The endo arm peg would break on people too trying to swap. Most of us just bought multiples and have permanent looks to avoid breaking them. Way too fragile.
Yikes! Well, i bought 2 of the 2.0s and plan to pose one of them with the arm exposed.

I actually own the original MMS117, but I never took the arm out of the box - posed that figure with the shotgun and roses. I think this was the pleather figure.

Amazing figure, thought i only gonna get damaged version, but minigun sold it. One flaw is that base bro... I hope they gonna change it, its ridiculously poor even in comparison with 1.0. Like a designer had a day off or something. LED diorama in battle damaged version and this...

The new arm is a different design from the previous and you will just swap the entire arm from the shoulder. That will def help.

Been cleaning up my edit today, making it look less 'edited'. Changed the ears a tad, altered the frown lines between the eyes somewhat to more match the reference pic

The mouth and chin area might still be subtly off. Other than moving the lower face down and altering the upper lip yesterday I didn't do anything else to this area because I don't really know what to do there or, even if I did have a particular idea, I'm not sure I could do it while being consistent with the lighting in the image.
Looks much better. Now I see Arnie and not Lundgren. Hot toys should revise the head.

How did the fingers break?

As you were trying to install the arm into the socket?

Damn, asking me for receipts on something that I vaguely remember from 15 years ago ... :lol

I don't even think I was trying to plug the arm in. I think I was just trying to pose the fingers, they would snap off at the knuckle.

Well, I would have been sold on a new Arnie that looked like that!!! Amazing work buddy 🍻

I'll still get one. But had it been a nailed sculpt at last I probably couldn't have helped myself and I'd have bought one to replace all my current Clean Uncle Bobs.....which, as I look around is....well, it's only 3 - Cyberdyne Window using M79, Pescadero Hospital (inaccurately wearing grey T-shirt) and Endo-arm reveal (which I merged with garage chip reset scene and have his head open aswell). All the rest I boxed away, deeming them a bit on the excessive side :lol

This new sculpt is too flawed to really go all-in with. Same goes for the BD figure.

When I was working on that edit and looking at Hot Toys original sculpt I started to see either Kurt Russell in Stargate or a white Laurence Fishburne complete with Matrix-style sunglasses.

HT loves when people like a-dev do this work because that's the photo that gets circulated and that's what people, over time, start to believe they have on order.

Honestly had no intention of doing this but somehow I found myself doing some redrawing. If you save these to your computer you can open them in a photo-browser and cycle back & forth to see the alterations....for whatever it's worth. Not necessarily perfect but I'm going to say certainly better.

A-DEV EDIT
View attachment 758718

- pulled the face down below the nose (nose and mouth were too close together)
- redrew upper lip to look more like the above movie reference
- narrowed face at the cheekbones and temples
- adjusted hairline on temples and made forehead taller
- reduced mid-forehead crease
- changed hair silhouette (because of course I had to)
- adjusted sunglasses - possibly still a bit sticky uppy on top corners
- gave him eyebrows just above the sunglasses rims
- somewhat redrew the nose to look less bulbous (tricky that, I'm no expert on light and shade so I probably haven't nailed it)
- had to add a bit of thickness to neck (on one side only per this particular photo and angle)

credit to @EndoSickness regarding upper lip and nose - I initially didn't see those as being wrong, I was focused on the general shape of his face/head

credit also to @Dave_W for his useful image comparison - and he also noticed the bulbous nose
Send those onto Hot Toys!

Too many for me to replace with my 5 current clean looks:
On Harley
Rose Box
Night Watch
Cyberdyne Window with the…
-Grenade Launcher
-Gatling Gun

I use to have the arm reveal, but changed it to the night watch. If HT makes the correct changes on the sculpt, then I could be totally screwed and have to upgrade 😂

Also, speaking of Cyberdyne on the last roadtrip to my hometown last November I stopped by the actual building in Fremont on the way to show my 12yr old son as a surprise. Arnie is his favorite actor and he immediately knew where we were at. He was super stoked and took a pic. The kid loves Terminator :yess:

Knew it. The red line shows how wrong the jaw is.
Needs to be WAY more square. And that's only ONE problem.
Way too old forehead, shape of the shades is wrong, upper lip needs to be thinner,
nose needs to be smaller.

Nice lines! Pity they're meaningless. You know, the whole focal length thing! Camera lenses and focal lengths significantly impact perspective... You cant simply compare angles between images that were taken from different cameras or lenses. Even changing lenses on the same camera would result in noticeable angle differences on the same figure.

Is a this a different portion of building than the one that got blown up in the movie?

I was under the impression they blew up a disused building in Fremont.

Noted - do not the pose the fingers. :lol

I bet the DX10 sunglasses won’t even fit this new sculpt. Just a sneaky suspicion I have cause that’s how HT roll. They always make the necessary adjustments to make sure older figures are just slightly different and off requiring mods. They really do know how to do stuff like that :joy

Most of the time but not always. They made sure to have Mondo Luke's head be retroactively usable with all previous Luke figures since the original ROTJ figure. Cannibal King Jack Sparrow head was usable on AWE Jack as well as the AWE hat being usable on the CK Jack heads. Original TDK Army Batman's head could fit on the DX12 head as well. That's just from memory, but I'm sure there are other, albeit rare, occasions given HT huge catalog.

So are people going to spam Hot Toys on their pages with a-dev’s edit? Or not to protect anonymity?
Well, I'm still chipping away at it to see if I can get it closer. Have to go asleep now for what is going to amount to a 'nap' before work. But tomorrow when I get a chance I want to see what it looks like if I square the chin (currently it's kinda rounded and less defined than it is in the reference pic) and also see if he needs the asymmetrical jaw that Arnie has where it's smoother going up to his ear on his left side and more angular on his right. In theory not essential but sometimes it's the weirdest things that really bring a likeness out.

Well, I was primarily talking about the HT Arnies and not the entire HT catalog. They’ve made slight adjustments with sculpt sizes that could easily make the DX10 shades not fit this new sculpt. Otherwise, why did they change them from the DX mold. See what I’m saying, but yeah with other figures like Sparrow you can still swap stuff around, so you are correct good sir 🍻
