1/6 Hot Toys -Terminator Genisys: T-800 Guardian

Courtney's character was not Reese. Nothing was the same, thanks to his laughable attitude towards Biehn's characterisation. Emilia Clarke was ok... but she fell between the two previous Sarah Conners. She had elements of T1 Sarah and elements of T2 Sarah, but never really made the role her own, and the characterisation felt weak sitting in that no man's land.

Finally got the movie on bluray this week and watched it last night. The good news is, Arnie is by far the best part of the movie... and then, well..

The effects were good, i especially like the early part of the film with future war stuff. When it comes to the future war effects though i still prefer T2.

it could be the dumbest part if the whole movie wasn't equally dumb.
infiltrators checking cargo instead of infiltrating, flyers dropping infantry instead of killing everything without landing. 5 humans versus 3 machines, small and stupid time displacement machine instead of hyper complex in T2 plans - everything is cheap and small. it's not a war, it's a village quarrel between two families consisting of old farts.

and what the hell is this?

why are they hanging? did designer work too much in the butchery

he didn't even try to study what he was told to do?

oh, and about this HT figure - the headsculpt is even worse than MMS238. Schwarzenegger didn't look anything like this in the movie. it's twice older than his role even with gray hair.

Picked up the Blu Ray today and I have to say, Hot Toys nailed the battle damage on this one. It looks just like it is shown on the movie.

It's actually based off the posters, he doesn't once appear Battle damaged in the way Hot Toys have sculpted him.

Yeah the figure is quite inaccurate to the film. He's way too old looking too, kinda fat in the face.

I got the 3d version blu ray and the battle damage on that version looks exactly like the hot toys.

I have Blu-ray 3d version as well man, I'm telling you HT based the battle damaged head sculpt off of the poster. That's why they also included sunglasses.

Yes, that's the image on the movie I was talking about. Is on the back cover.
I'm not talking about what's IN the movie, just that they matched what's ON the movie.

Well by that pictures logic though they missed the bd on the chin and the glowing eyes . Still i loved this movie and i got the blu ray so i might get this at some point.

Watched the movie again; enjoyed it again. Like this figure, I'll buy eventually. I'm just pissed I missed out on the BD T-800 from Sideshow.

I recently saw the movie. I didn't think it was very good. I was fooled by the opening battle which I thought was pretty good. However the movie is the best of the stuff after T2. That's not saying much when T1 & T2 are so much better though...

Anyway, I was wondering why Hot Toys didn't go all out and make a deluxe on this Terminator. There were still some cheesy bits but nothing like Terminator 3. And I thought Schwarzenegger did almost a good job on this one compared to T2. Good enough that I'm considering the figure but I want more weapons and the look near the end as well. Maybe Hot Toys will come out with another version...

I'm pretty happy with the HT 1/4 endo and 1/6 T1 BD Arnold. I was so excited when they teased the 1/4 Police shootout T800, and equally disappointed when they killed it. Still stupidly optimistic that they'll revisit that. I would die happy if that were the last Terminator figure I buy, but alas...
