I'm sure it's because it'll end up being a recast. As you said, I think that's the "prototype" in those pics. Which seems to be just the HT head with repainted hair.

Some photoshop...

Good job on that. I personally prefer that they went for the older face. I think if we're going to have a figure of old Arnie it might aswell be the oldest one for the novelty it presents in the collection. I do wish they'd painted the hair grey to match it though.

I prefer the 2017 one, with grey hair and these dark and militar clothes, it looks very baddass to me, but doing the 1984, which I'm sure is not the most liked one, they chose the wrong face. As a lot of people has said, probably because lack of references.

btw, that paint job on that head from ebay looks pretty bad. I can see a lot of brown in the hair.

It's just a mock up with photoshop, I'm guessing.

Showed a picture of the fig to someone with no interest in Action figures
Asked them who's that then.
No hesitation Its Arnold Schwarzenegger they said

Well that's good enough for me. :)

i sincerely do not know how people differ their relatives from anybody else if they say these two faces are same person.

Getting a bit militant there P.

Point made however (the one about recognisability not necessarily meaning perfect likeness)

Your last edit is, again, a bit extreme Mr ''Robocop's colour is perfectly fine''

This figure is a pretty spot on representation of arnie. It depends on taste really if you like it go for it. I must admit i wasn't a fan of genisys movie but the endo looks great and i'm definitely gonna pick it up. Besides i don't think ht will be revisiting the original terminator movies series any time soon(or ever) the way things are going with dc, marvel and star wars.

:lol

I'll give you a pass. You've given food for thought - perhaps I have again fallen for the ''new toy'' effect, I am as susceptible to it as everyone else. The jury will remain out.

i painted Robocop's helmet over GI Joe figure's head in my childhood.
you don't know what it was like here to have nothing o_O
i still remember that urban legend about terminator skeleton figures with poseable fingers from my childhood.
while terminator was 2-layers covered by HT figures, Robocop was a miracle to happen. shape is wonderful, color is irrelevant :)

also i never said Robocop's color is "perfectly fine". i said that i don't know how people don't see fails in shape but pretend to see fails in color.

I understand the point you're making about gradients of colour and that being a ''meh'' thing to you but the simple fact is that small gradients of shape are also hard to distinguish. It's a two sides of the same coin scenario. People failing to see a difference in the shape of a Predator's mandibles for example is no more inexplicable than you not caring that Robocop's colour is wrong. It's the same, except you care more about one thing while they care more about a different thing.

No "perhaps" about it, you did.:lecture

Gave this movie another shot last night and it made me physically ill again. Couldn't even finish it.
