Mostly his stature. Penguin is typically a short, squat man around 5-feet or so. Sure, classically he's portrayed as wearing a tuxedo with a top hat and monocle, but that would look ridiculous in Reeve's "grounded" world. I remember when Jonah Hill was rumored for the part, which he may have even been offered, who knows. Hill is one of those actors who fits the expected archetype. However, the same argument could have been made against casting 5'9" Tom Hardy as Bane which worked out quite well for the film. I'm sure Colin Farrell in prosthetics will do an amazing and convincing job, I just don't know if I'll necessarily want a figure for the collection. Too early to tell.
That said, I'd still like to see HT produce '92 DeVito Penguin and a '66 Burgess Meredith Penguin.
Im
The opposite. Tom Hardy bane was the least intimidating bane I’ve ever seen on film. Yes even b&r bane was more intimidating. Batman should have beat his little *** in his sleep.

You need to watch The Lighthouse, Good Time, The Devil All the Time, High Life (although the film is pretty crap, his performance is good). He chooses interesting films, signed up to the new Bong Joon-ho sci-fi also. He can do nuance and over-the-top.
Yea I've found that while I haven't liked a lot of movies that he's in, I have liked his performance in many of his films. I haven't found him to be the weak link in a movie I find to be bad. Usually he's one of the few good things in those movies.

I also really like him in Tenet and Cosmopolis but admit that the films themselves are very very hard to like.

i think a really good pro that this batman will have over other previous hot toys batmans.. besides bale. this one can turn his head since it isnt one solid cowl fixed to the shoulder. and judging by the armor. i dont think you can get much torso articulation but its promising for the arms and legs articulation, i dont think this suit will flake on you

The Twilight stuff was always kind of funny because the people spreading that tended to be huge fans of Affleck's Batman, despite him having his fair share of bad movies to his name. It'd be like insisting "What?! The Gigli guy?!" when he was cast as the new Batman, which admittedly I'm sure some fans did at the time.

The suit has started to grow on me quite a bit in the movie footage, but not sure yet if it really translates to a cool looking 1/6 figure.

I'm definitely down for a Kravitz Catwoman though, because yum.

Listen, if I can get over what's happened with the Snyder films (it's still stuck in my craw and may be for a good while--it just pisses me off) this would likely be the DC film that would interest me the most. I've watched some of Pattison's indie films and he's a talented actor. The casting choices for the other actors are offbeat and interesting. Zoe Kravitz is an inspired choice for Catwoman I suspect (well, I hope). The whole approach of a year one Batman via psychological thriller/suspense/noir/horror is potentially very rich material.

On the other hand, I'm just not feeling excited about it. Nor from anything I've seen from the trailers. I'm nowhere even close to fanboying out on it like I did with the first trailer to BvS which hyped me through the roof. Or like I imagine I would have been hyped if Ben Affleck had made his solo film.

But this is at least a film my gut tells me could impress me greatly. It would be good for me if it does, frankly. I'm not interested in the Flash, Aquaman 2, WW3, Black Adam, or much of anything else that WB has in the chute. This is the one movie on WB's slate that I think has the potential to win me over.

Catwoman (who'll hopefully get a proper cowl by the third act).

She doesn’t……apparently.

I actually don’t mind really, i love the tailoring on her outfit anyway and she’s gorgeous, so I wouldn’t mind a cowless sculpt.

I was super hyped up after that first moody trailer... but by this point it feels like I've seen the same images and heard the same musical beats so often that it's just lost all impact. And I'm not feeling anything at all with the current trailers.

I myself really like the cowl and collar. It's those awful gauntlets that tick me off. I'll have to wait and see how both the movie and figure turn out. I've got a BaleBat on PO to go with the inevitable 3.0 Joker, but I like Pattinson as an actor and his Bruce Wayne look, so I'm tempted by this. Question is whether I should wait for the inevitable sequel suit, considering how many things are on the horizon. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Good sign for riddler and catwoman:
