They really are. I guess with the months-long waits I did for Endgame Cap and Peacemaker, it's finally my turn for an early batch release.
Definitely feel I waited long for EG Cap with SS so much that I cancelled and ordered from TBA and as soon as I did, SS shipped Cap. So hopefully Bats arrives next week.They really are. Customers aren’t paying you so you can enjoy your social life and ignore them while they wait indefinitely for their purchase that you’ll get around someday when you feel like it.You do know people have jobs and life outside of doing custom works, i used to do commision works myself and there will be unforseen delays or suspend to the projects.
Plus getting tons of people trying to get in contact with you is just a headache to keep on which one is which.

If you’re going to offer a service and charge people, the fact it’s not the main priority in your life doesn’t excuse bad etiquette.
It shouldn’t be that difficult to find a few minutes to post an update on social media to keep people informed instead of ghosting, which inevitably sews seeds of doubt and panic.

Kinda strange to me that people are putting so much work into modding this figure when we already have a superior Inart version coming.

I dealt with slow update before and sure i get whine up at the slow update but i have faith in the person that working on it.
I been scammed by someone in this community before (boomix) he's was the worst case of it, scammed alot of people and leaving them in the dark.

If a customizer asks for payment in advance and agrees to complete the order by a certain date or within a timeframe, that’s called an agreement. And it’s not ridiculous to expected it to be honored. If circumstances prevent the customizer from meeting that agreement, most of us are understanding provided that they communicate that to us. It not ridiculous to expect them to communicate that to the buyer. To simply take payment and vanish without any communication, miss your agreed upon ship date, and offer nor response is unethical and rude. The whole “you try taking multiple orders and keeping track of which is which” argument is nonsense. If a customizer can’t keep track of which order is which, they have no business taking money from collectors.
I say this as someone who operates an online shop for my own art. So I speak from experience.
Being an amateur customizer, or calling it a “side hustle”, doesn’t mean they are not responsible for their actions. If you take the money in advance, you are expected to honor your agreement, communicate with your customer, and yes keep track of which order is which.
Most of us know how unresponsive, flaky, and downright crooked many customizers can be. And we order from them knowing that. But it’s not ridiculous to ask them to be upfront and honest. There are a handful that are, and they are the reason this part of the hobby endures.
I have friends who make custom art pieces for an unrelated space, and they maintain a Trello board so that anyone can view where in the pipeline a given project is. I think there are customizers who would really benefit from this, especially those who struggle with communication and delays. I feel that delays are normal and understandable, but poor communication can really undermine a customer's confidence--which leads to greater frequency of messages.I disagree. And “assuming someone is crooked for not responding immediately”? When did I say that? You’re not even making sense. You’re just tossing out insults and hyperbole. Do you expect people to do a job without pay, many times i seen people who does commision works for the customers once projects finish they are left unpaid wasting they time,efforts and resources.

Why order from the Customizer in the first place if you can't put faith or trust into the customizer, I only order from people who i know and had experienced with buying from.
Exactly. Well put. We are all used to lengthy delays. But if an order is paid in advance, a decent customizer keeps us informed. Granted I’m more easy going with guys I’ve had multiple dealings with. For sure! Dude a simple excel spread can get that job done. I just don’t buy that “you try taking multiple orders and keeping track of which is which” argument. If someone can’t handle the simplest of order organization tasks, they shouldn’t be taking preorder payments. There are sooooo many easy e-commerce systems today for pretty much any sized business. Heck I use a Shopify account that’s like thirty bucks a month and does all the order management and communication for me.As someone who used to do custom headsculpt paint commissions on the side, customers can be demanding and not really understanding. I never asked for full payment upfront, just a deposit so it’s not like I was sitting with all their money and nothing to show for it. There was a guy who wanted progress updates daily which just wasn’t possible. No matter how much I tried to explain to him that I could give weekly updates, but not daily updates he would still request an update in the next day or two regularly. That one was the last one I did b/c I didn’t want to deal with ppl like that any longer.
That said, I ALWAYS responded to his and other messages, usually the same day. It really is not that hard to send a message. It might not be the response ppl are looking for, but it keeps communication open. And I was working 12-14hr days in my day job at the time and putting commissions on top of that. So, to say you don’t have the time to answer messages is really saying that you aren’t dedicating anytime to reply. It’s pretty easy to give at least 30mins to an hour a day respond to messages. Do it during your lunch break, while you’re waiting for dinner to cook, do it while taking a walk if you do that, while you’re on the toilet instead of scrolling social media or playing phone games there a pockets of time we all have that could be used to also answer messages but we choose to do something else with that time.

There's also no excuse to not being able to keep track of orders. There's plenty of free software out there these days including Google Sheets to create a simple spreadsheet. Heck, you can even make tables in just about any word processor software to keep track of orders.
All you need to do is spend a little time to put systems in place, even the most basic systems, to help keep things organized and easier to manage as you go along. It's really not that hard. We have so much technology literally at our fingertips to make things like this so much easier for us yet folks still say "it's not that easy." Sorry to tell you, but it really is that easy.
