No tricks really I just held the figure firmly around the waist and pulled both sleeves to his wrists and then formed the bottom of the jacket in to a pose that seemed natural to me. The only part of the jacket that I had any trouble with was the collar.

So u used not heat or anything to Iron them out so to speak? U just stretched the material?

I was going to swap the MOS Superman (long pegs) with the Crow (short pegs) but I don't have either figure yet. :gah:

I wouldn't swap the MOS figure with a shorter peg. :nono
Personally, every figure I've seen where it was shortened, the figure's proportion looked off.
I think even Tony Meis who did this mod, eventually reverted back to the long pegs cause he said
he likes it better that way.
He has a very long torso, shortening the legs wont fix the issue.
It solves your issue of making him shorter, but now he looks like he has short legs.

At 1/6 scale, anything done sometimes can be magnified immensely, and something simple as replacing the foot pegs
makes a considerable difference.
When I had my HT Cap TFA, I had the short pegs, and Sideshow actually sent me the long pegs for free cause
some of the figures came with it, and mine didnt. Once I replaced it with the long pegs, it made a HUGE HUGE difference.
So something as simple as switching Foot pegs can make a huge difference.
The Crow's case, it makes it much nicer, but in supes case, putting a short peg throws off the proportion of the figure.
And much like myself, and most of the people, once you have it in hand, the height becomes a non issue.
It doesnt bother me one bit.

for me the problem with the coat is the bulky awful material they chose to produce it in. And that's the worst thing to go wrong cause you can't mod the thickness of a fabric. Yes, some folks have been able to make the figure look good with the coat in photos, but personally I want more out of this figure than just something that looks good from the right angle in the right lighting.

The Crow was one of my favorites growing up, and I want this figure to be as perfect as possible. Thank god they fixed the hair up a bit, but the outfit is just totally not up to par..

Completely agree. Supes looks odd on small pegs. Leave him the way he is. The Crow however looks great with long pegs, people should just pick a set of cheap ones up on ebay.

Re: Hot Toys The Crow petition

I couldn't wait. I called and converted him from flex. If and I mean if sideshow ships today I'll have him Friday.

Got mine today and spent two-and-a-half hours futzing with it. Without the coat, he needs a lot of work. The neck is on the skinny side and the shoulders are so broad and wonky-looking that they make him look hugely disproportionate. Also, the legs could use some buffing up; at the moment the pointy boots flare out so much on those thin legs that they look like elf shoes. That's what he looks like. An elf with a bobblehead. Just an awkward-looking figure.

The trench coat fixes nearly all of those issues (except for the legs/boots), but as it's been discussed, the quality of the tailoring isn't as good as what we've come to expect from Hot Toys. I feel like this figure could so easily have been a home run but in the midst of all the Iron Man action, it was merely an afterthought to shut up all the fans who've been begging for a Crow figure. While I still love the way it looks on the shelf (with the coat, of course), I'm seriously considering doing some modifications. Probably try a more sculpted body and, if I can, get ahold of some boots.

On that last note, I'm overwhelmingly excited to see how Rorywan's custom turns out.

Picture time.

Great pics man! Eric looking good. Still deciding if I want this figure or not. Tons of great photos to look at in this thread and happy for you die hard fans for the dream figure of the century.

so I still don't know what do to about the body, but I took the wire and inside lining out of the coat and its sitting way better right now. Also changed out the necklace string to something that doesnt flip into a figure 8..

also no one else has mentioned that they made the guitar he has in the flashback scenes, not the black Strat copy he gets from the pawn shop. Pretty dissapointing. Overall though the figure is growing to me especially with this coat mod

I don't mean to keep bashing the figure, dont get me wrong im SO happy to own in and that HT made it, just sucks that it seems like it was an afterthought with all their focus completely misplaced (IMO) in Iron man figures

Wow the coat looks really good without the wire in it. :clap

All right, I'm decided. Definitely modding mine. Rewatched the make-up scene and...

...I can't let the figure stay the way it is. Hot Toys making this was a dream, but the final product isn't quite the dream. And seeing as this is the only high-end figure of Brandon Lee so far, it needs to be.

What are you planning?

The coat looks great without the wire. I may have to do that. I may also paint the lips black too, but I'd buy a second sculpt to do it on.
