Maybe they're adding rooted hair to a new revised sculpt..:blissy

Sorry man hot Toys deff won’t be adding rooted hair, even though I would be down for it it’s wayyyy to much of a drastic change it would effect purchase probably. What you see in p.o it’s what your basically going to get unfortunately ://

The reason why for no route hair is because it will be more expensive and much more work to do that's why I think they don't do it. They just never going to do it for joker

I'm hearing a lot of "never's". It might not happen this time but never is a long time. The chances of rooted hair mass produced joke never happening are precisely ZERO!

My question would be - does the license holder dictate rooted hair or not?

I dont think it's a licencing thing. Correct me if Im wrong but Hot Toys have never incorporated rooted hair on any of their male figures to date.

If a small no name unlicensed brand like Overtoys can do it (and decently) HT definitely can.

Its whether they want to or not and the price they would charge if they were to do so. Look at the intricate parts in an Iron Man, Hulkbuster, DeLorean, and much more. They have plenty of female figures with rooted hair. You're telling me they get someone to stitch some hair onto a 1/4 plastic head? I'm thinking they are waiting for their chance to double dip on this 1/4th before their license expires whenever that will be.

I think Hot Toys is speculating on the Joker. He released different versions of the Joker, but I personally still like the DX01, it's much more similar and less cartoonish than the DX11. In version 1/4 I expected a lot more, the sculpt is not formidable, looking at it I do not see the joker both in the resemblance to the actor and in the expressiveness typical of the joker. There are customs on ebay that are much better than Hot Toys. I think Hot Toys will release another version of the joker next year and I hope it is the final one. This 1/4 will not buy it for these reasons.

Here is a new pic of the joker. I think for sure this is the final version of the figure. : https://www.instagram.com/p/Bmma-BQjV_k/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=oy3hixxuzpq0

The lighting is a big game changer. It looks cool but I honestly do not see heath ledger. Not trying to be a D*** and bash this figure but I just don’t see him or really the joker personality in the sculpt. Those shape of the nose in side profile is off too

I’m wondering if the sculptor used TDK screen grabs to sculpt the joker or used heath ledger pics then Added the scars?? I think she took the 1st approach..

I've shown a few friends pics of this and asked their thoughts; they all thought it was cool, and didn't see anything wrong with the headsculpt. To them it was fine, it looks like the Joker.
And at first glance, I agree, it looks like the Joker. The problem is, the second you put a screen shot or movie poster next to it the glaring problems become evident.

I can't fault anyone for buying it, it's a 1/4 Dark Knight Joker. It is an official "Hot Toys" figure (for however much longer the allure of that brand name will last), It will have a great shelf presence.
But for my collection, I'm sorry...no. No way.

This is a Hot Toys release. A Hot Toys release of a character that they have sculpted 6 times.
This sculpt should be better than all previous sculpts. This sculpt should be better than anything done by other companies.
This sculpt should be jaw-hit-the-floor-knock-your-socks-on-your-ass astounding.
And it's not.

Yeah it also doesn’t help if your apart of a community like this one who at one time saw many many talented people make their own ledger sculpts with real hair and saw just how amazing those were to well what we have here from a multi million dollar company..?? Night and day really..but this was already discussed and mentioned over the past few pages it basically this “ hot toys made this figure about them” not about heath.. this wasn’t to honor heath it was to honor the few people who worked on the joker.. if hot toys made this about heath they should have what many have suggested Z sculptors for a bang on in memory of heath figure..it’s clear their sculptors can’t do ledger. They do many other actors and actresses pretty good..

Their Schwarzenegger sculpts are the same. Recognizable yes, but quite inaccurate if you hold them up to Arnie on the screen.

No excuses on this one as mentioned 6

This HS is a flop of epic proportions
