Hot Toys: The Dark Knight: 1/4 The Joker

No disrespect intended, but "the headsculpt not being 100%" is a very polite euphemism for what is basically just weak.

Besides that, I don't see that many awesome components to this figure. I expect great tailoring/accessories/articulation, and it will sell like hot cakes so people can see it as an investement, that's about all.

If your purchases a based purely on investment purposes then you're in this hobby for all the wrong reasons!

While I don’t like the HS this is an HT Figure in the end. This will sellout like it being WL already and those who miss out will be paying crazy prices later down the road. Like the QS001. Buy now it regret later. I have the EB Joker too. Ultimate bash coming soon.

Good luck with that! Took forever for the exclusive to sell out. HT will milk at least another anniversary I reckon later down the line so the masses wont be too keen to jump on this out of desperation. Most certainly not at this price given how everyone's (bar a few) luke warm opinion is on the current item. I for one am excited to be getting this figure regardless of what the majority have to say. Each to their own I suppose

To be honest, anything DC related isn't really selling. I'm trying to sell my Tech Cowl version and BvS Superman and no interest, AoU Cap, MK43 went quickly. To be fair WW and Harley Quinn went quite quickly too, but they were well received.

I think most people are past the high interest of what TDK trilogy used to command, it's a shame.

Bvs probably not selling good due to the fact the JLA film sucking. On top of Ben might not be playing Batman I guess some collectors are waiting to see who will be the next Batman. The DCEU is kinda an emotional roller coaster with more downs. Deff not like what MCU established were you kno for a fact a certain actor will be playing his/her character over and over..I too had a hard time selling the bvs batman and Superman figures but I finally sold them and it was below what I paid :/ which deff wasn’t retail..

Oh man.. I remember really back in the day when the first HT Joker came out and we had to choose between that or the ugly Medicom one. Somehow was magically able to convince myself that it looked ok. Then Bank Robber v1 came out and the old HS instantly became garbage.

Come on HT, release pics of the 1/4 Bank Robber Joker with an actual good sculpt, then another year down the line release an "Ultimate" 1/4 Joker sculpted by Kojun or Lee So-Young. It wouldn't be the first time you did something like this. Repeat history again your adoring fans await !

This release is not my cup of tea, i'll stick with my EB. However, if they did get someone else to make a better sculpt with rooted hair I would happily buy another 1/4 DK Joker.

they haven't done anything like that with any of the 1/4 figures yet! I have to go with this figure until something better comes along at a decent price.

Actually the sculpt on the Medicom one is not bad, it was the paint that made it look so girly looking. Here it is repainted.



Granted it still looks cartoony but it doesn't look as bad as it did with the stock paint.

Yeah l remember when they did the Bank Robber version, people were taking off their first Joker head and put that Bank Robber one on the clown suit figure. I don't think most people thought Hot Toys did a good job on the first one they just bought it so they could have Dark Knight Joker.

TBF there is no guarantee that either of those Sculptors could nail Ledger either, despite them being very good sculptors.
I think the only way to guarantee a sculpt with the a good likeness to Ledger is to resort to using Z sculptors.

What on earth. How was Medicom able to make a better Batman and Joker - on their first go - ten years ago - than every one of Hot Toys’ attempts since.

That repaint makes the Medi Joker look amazing.

Same as how all of sudden the EB Begins suit batman is somehow better than the HT Begins Batman but was horribly bashed when it was released. Gotta love SSF

My thoughts exactly. Seems as though people will never be content and seem to get off bashing EVERY Joker figure distributed. Personally think the exclusive HS is superb! Can't wait!!

Ok I really don't like the body on the EB Joker, so I am hoping to put the EB sculpt on this body.

It reminds me a bit of Adam's older sculpts that looked like Heath but just not that realistic.

These are most likely the two reasons for the Joker

1. Too many Hot Toys fanboys.

2. Medicoms is not as realistic as Hot Toys.

As for EB Batman, I would say that was obviously due to reason number 1.

Its crazy how long this figure is taking to come out. Not even a picture of the production head sculpt. I wonder if Hot toys tried doing rooted hair and thats what is causing delays. If they can rooted hair on Chewie they can do it on this guy.

I hope not. Hot Toys rooted hair is nearly always terrible in my limited experience. Mass produced rooted hair will never come close to the customs we see posted on here. I'd rather they just improve the sculpted hair and the face.
