Yeah, I was wondering about that. Until just now I was at work and watched the trailer on my phone. Thought that was a shotgun but then the comments above suggested "Pops" Arnie makes short work of young Arnie, so figured I must've been mistaken. Wonder why he would choose a shotgun... probably the worst weapon one could use against a Terminator. Anyway, there's no arguing it, it's gonna be crap, but I don't really care, to be honest. Franchise has been dead for a long time, so this is just some fan fic to VOD one lonely evening (wife has enough sense not to watch).

It'll probably be like the Sarah Connor Chronicles where a couple of shots to the head destroys him.

That killed it for me, Reese hit him how many times in Tech Noir and he just got back up. Trailer either does the film an injustice or it's as bad as it looks but the trailer material is definitely a let down.

Well in fairness he couldn't exactly get a phase plasma riffle in a forty watt range LOL. It doesn't show how he actually destroys the T1 terminator, Older Arnie may have just used the shotgun to catch the T1 off guard, knock it down and then rip its head off. Hard to say till we all see the movie. I think the biggest issue everyone will have will be the casting. I already hate the kyle reese choice, disappointed at the T1000 cast hoice, and on the fence as of yet with the sarah conor choice.

Well from the trailer it looks that way but till we see how the fight plays out that may change, not sure how a crappy sawed off shot gun is even going to put a dent in the old 84 T800, fight might drag out a bit, I hope it does to be honest, would be a shame to see him taken out in one scene

Yep, I feel the same way man. If they're gonna get my money for the movie, then HT might as well get my money for the figure. I cannot resist

Well the new endo is what I'd really want to get my hands on, old man t-800 while not the coolest thing would still get my money

I expect that's exactly what's gonna happen. This new T-1000 is the villain, they really won't have the screentime for a drawn-out battle with the original T-800. And Sarah's line ''we already took care of him'' appears to happen very very early after she meets Kyle Reese. In fact it looks like its while she's rescuing the recently arrived Reese from the new T-1000. Any encounter with the original T-800 must happen before that and must be very short. '84-800 is gonna be destroyed before he even has a chance to get some clothes. Or maybe he won't be destroyed, just disabled so they can reprogram him and use him in the sequel that may not get made if this film tanks.

Yeah I caught that myself, I think your right he is not going to last but a couple of minutes, likely will be shot in the face with the shotgun right after arriving making the rest of the CGI work easy for them just like in salvation then taken out in some quick and simple way by old man T-800 I'm really looking forward to a fun watch but I may end up hating this already

Yeah its getting stupid, actually its been stupid since T3, They should have just continued on from salvation, final battle 2029 endos everywhere, big fight and the resistance smashes the grid, kyle and 84 T800 go into the time machine and create the perfect loop, but they want to cash in with 3 films and change everything, its going to likely take a dump on everything cool about terminator

Final battle would have been it man. Let's see the war and Skynet get taken down. Throw in John Connor's death at the end and be done with it

Salvation was terrible, though. I generally like Christian Bale but he was horrible as John Conner, and the world itself didn't fit with what we saw in the first two films.

Salvation had some major issues that's for sure, but it was gritty and kept the dark feel of terminator, a midway point to the final battle is all it was, story was weak and not well thought out but of all the John Connors Bale's was the best, not that that's saying much
