a base.

burning_T1_001_zpszzyk4xj6.jpg~original

i don't know if it will work yet. i mean - it works with lights from the sides, but my intention is to make a permanent base with independent light, and the only way for it is to go from below. and i won't get the base for... the base until next year, i guess.
best way would be to put many leds inside the flames, of course. but i don't know how to do that easily.

:clap:panic::panic::panic: AWESOME P !!!!

Cool pic.

As for further experimentation trying to get the body right, I sorta forced myself to give up when I put the paperclips into the jackets. If I start trying to strip the figures down again I risk tearing the jackets asunder. So personally I'm just gonna leave mine as they are at this point. But I'm curious what you'll end up with after this.
yeah i would like to make that paperclip magic, too. i just don't understand where you put them in o_O

thanks :) i really hope to turn it into a permanent statue one day. for now fires are just put on and around the figure, and i don't even move it.

thinking about this for base lights.

thank you guys for all that appreciation of my attempt and for numerous rep points as well, in a single day you moved my bar to a new level :bow

here is another experiment which i must now repeat several times. that's a DX10 body, a T1 made of leftovers from my collection and given to one kid (those things are unavailable for kids where i live). i suggested experimenting with giving his terminator some workout in a gym. unlike previously done by members, the insides of his body are "sculpted" with a black tape layers. i thought about it after vodoun gave his T1 not only new neck, but reshaped all upper half.
anyway, "sculpting" under a skin layer taken off allowed me to put "muscles" where they should be - neck/back connection, neck itself, shoulders, chest and so on. a gap in the hairsculpt will be deleted later (i just didn't leave enough place without thickening there, should cut a millimeter more), it's easy because the hair is soft plastic.

side by side, though the MMS238 there has a slightly stuffed neck already.

my photobucket is now ridiculously filled with naked male doll photos. :slap

on another note: some sideshow picture shows the BD terminator with exposed knee. i expected i saw it in the movie for a long time (when he flies under the truck), either they made it up or saw it too, but i do believe that knee damage in T2 was reused from T1 intentions, so now they have a picture like my full BD figure - with exposed endo knee :)

i want that picture :(

That's the ticket, looks more like the Arnold we now. The neck looks almost too big now in some angles (as if that's even a possibility). :clap:lol

I see you cut the rubber under his right arm. When you slide the rubber back on does it hold the shape like that or do you have to glue it or something?

I will have to try this some day. Those old pictures from Vodoun haunts my mind every time I see the figure, even if it's just a picture on the internet.

that's not how it works, you don't have to cut, you just have to open it. there is an outer layer slightly glued to inner layer there. very easy to open. if you need then you can put a small drop of super glue just to keep it fixed back, but it can stay unglued, held by the shirt only.
It looks very promising. I wonder how it looks fully-clothed.
oops, i've already given the figure away to its new master, because i promised to return it before weekend (not to keep the kid waiting for several long days :)).
but i'll do it 5 times more and will try to remember making a side-by-side picture of two figures. i wonder if there is any difference as well.
p.s. just got a report that figure looks way more massive now in hand.

Went ahead and picked one up. I didn't have a Terminator in my collection, and I'm pretty happy with it. [emoji2] uploadfromtaptalk1449319248095.jpg

Great mod man.
Got any pics without the rubber chest?

I'm seriously thinking about trying the kind of mod vodoun and P. have done now. Only issue is, I need to find this figure on the cheap for experimentation purposes. My major reservation is that the jacket won't really fit once I do something like that. I had a rough time getting it on and off on the stock version, and the material is kind of thin and weak, so there is a concern over damaging it in the process.

80s display FTW.

I'm gonna get that art print from sideshow. I'm thinking of getting another BD as well I want to display the full BD look to match the SSC print.

and cheaper than kaustic or zod body :)
will make some process photos next time i do the mod. i think i'll leave it for new year holidays. need to do it five more times, so plenty chances to make photos :)

nope, the jacket fits ok, it has a lot of place inside. not like DX10.

Great mod P. I would love to see some clothed pics of that body swap when you're done with it :duff
ok here goes the second body...
chest, back, neck, trapezius muscles. this time it turned out a little different, but this is what i must repeat on all other figures. previous variant wasn't for me.

i will honestly make an insides photo with some next figure.
the flesh vest's right side isn't glued to its place yet, so the frontal shot is slightly weird in that area.
and this time no gap in hair line.

You can still get it for retail from various places, including BBTS, so no need to get scalped. But chances are, you can get it below retail on eBay, which is probably Taskmaster's point.

The only ones I see are over retail price
