This is kind of a grail collectible for me....but does anyone else think the sliver pipes on the side look horribly cheap ?

Is that just an early prototype?

That stood out to me as well. I'm sure it will look better in the final piece....at least I hope so.

This...is the one thing I MUST own. Time to start looking at the collection to see what can go to make room. I didn't expect this for another year honestly.

I'm not worried about the pipes. They appear to be the right shape, and from these shots, they don't look too far off from the gunmetal look of the film. Maybe a little brighter, but this model is pretty well lit, and the car in the movies wasn't exactly bathed in light ;). I think it looks like the entire side pipe area is one metal (or metal colored) mold, and it always looked to me that on the real car, the "negative space" area behind the pipes was black, not metal. And like you said, because it is a prototype, they might not have finished all of the final detailing. In any case, nothing that can't be tweaked with some good paintwork to match the screen look.

I'm more concerned about shape inaccuracies than coloring/paint variations---those, of course, will take more patience to modify.

Is this painted? Looks cool, but the Batmobile was shiny?

The gloss looks right based on the 1989 look. It appeared dark gray, not quite black, with a mid-to-low gloss look, like this model. In Batman Returns, it was black and very shiny. The 1989 version was much duller, but of course it was not matte black like the Tumbler.

I was at SDCC today and really hope that HT tweak and change the way that Batmobile look.

Way off and inacurate. This HT version is too short, stubby and narrow. The headlights are also shaped really weird.

This Batmobile is more long and wide. The toynami version is better. As for right now... But who knows maybe HT would really tweak it and make it right.

How unfortunate. Based on the pic, we all though it's perfect in scale.:cuckoo: I'm sure HT will still fix this one.:wink1: Will definitely not miss this like I did w/ the Tumbler! :nono

Hey Jed. From what you remember was it bigger then the toynami version or smaller. And did it look too toyish?

Batmobile looks excellent and very expensive.Im just waiting to see HT Keaton Batman.

Yeah I agree, the Batman version of this was gunmetal and much more refined shape wise (have a look in the Toynami thread). This looks like cheap unpainted black plastic. I hope they fix it, because I REALLY want one.

Any clue to the price of this sucka? I hope its in the Tumbler's price range.

hmmmmmm....

I'm really amazed how inaccurate this looks.
Compare the grill in front of the back wheel, not even similar.
I'm not a Batmobile expert like some of the guys on the Toynami thread, maybe they could
give us their opinion. But to me looks waaay off. Too boxy.

after the initial shock of HT actually making this, I now realize that it is pretty off.. I'm no batmobile expert but something is off with the shape around the cockpit area.

Is this a must have for those that missed out on the Tumbler? I think it looks good...but it could be better. We need a price on this thing!

it will get better im sure. just a work in progress. i have no doubts.
