I just find it wierd that the 89 batmobile is bigger than the Tumbler when you consider that the 89 has always been referred to as a 'car' while the Tumbler is described as a 'tank' in Batman Begins.

Haha yeah. I think the Tumbler is definitely more M113 APC than Abrams, and the 1989 Batmobile is more like a Cadillac.

I don't understand those sizes, but it is very long..

A lot of websites list different lengths for the Burton Batmobile usually around 260 inches, that's what? around 43inches in 1/6? That's roughly 3.5 feet long. Even if they have cheated that's still gonna be around 3foot.
Right?

:(

Yeah there is A LOT of seemingly "official" information about the 1989 Batmobile out there that just doesn't match up with other "official" information. See this post https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3648595&postcount=747

In summary, the Hot Toys version can range anywhere from 39 inches on the short end of the spectrum, to as long as 43.25 inches and still be 1/6 scale "accurate"... at least according to one of the sources.

Excellent graphic there - I can vouch for the size difference between the 89 Batmobile and the Tumbler as well - i've seen them both in person at the WB Studios Museum in LA.

89 Batmobile is VERY VERY long.

Tumbler looks beastly but is not too long

That sucks that they may have shortened it too. I can see why they would, but still.

I can't stop thinking about it now. :lol I've been waiting for the spec/pics/preorders to go up and when I saw how low the Tumbler was, I sort of got my hopes up like, "Holy ____, only $450? I'm definitely getting the Batmobile". Now we're back to "FUUUUUUUUUUU".

Now I wish I bought the Tumbler back in 2008 for the sole purpose of flipping it on the secondary market for $1,000 before the relaunch. Then I would have used the dough for this.

It does suck they are compromising on the scale

Makes me doubt they will tackle 'The Bat' now. It is much bigger than this.

I wouldn't be shocked if $1000 turned out to be true

How on earth could this be $1000? It doesn't seem to have as much detail as the Tumbler. Is it due to the length?

How could it NOT be $1000? HT is nearly pushing $300 for a 12" figure these days and the stuff like Iron Monger around $500. This Batmobile is epic. The minute they announced it I estimated $800-$1000 easy. I'm surprised that the Tumbler reissue was still under $500 but I think thats because the molds were already done.

I am still holding out hope that this will be around $800. $1000 will be tough for me to justify. That's a lot of ramen noodle lunches...

Sallah

:lol

I was fantasizing about getting this at one point.. for laughs. Realistically though, apart from being way beyond what I can afford, it's just too damn big.

The shipping dilemna sounds potentially hilarious too. What are they going to do - deliver it via tow truck!? :lol

How could it NOT be $1000?
Because it's one block of plastic on wheels? Because it doesn't need to be painted? Because it'll likely be the quickest piece to assemble in Hot Toys' history?

Those figures have countless pieces, every one hand-painted, and clothes that need to be hand-sewn. The Batmobile is none of those things.

If that were the case, then the Mark I and Bruce Wayne/Batman Begins figures would have been $149 or less. Hot Toys is not passing that savings on to us.
