Re: Hot Toys - TMS - The Mandalorian: Moff Gideon Collectible Figure

Yeah I found Grievous pretty cringeworthy at the time, but like everything else with the prequels I may be tempted to buy anyway once I see how cool the HT figure looks. Since it does have the potential to look pretty badass on display...

My thoughts exactly! :lecture

The character was written pretty badly but having him on display, holding "four" lit lightsabers would be just too freakin' cool.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - The Mandalorian: Moff Gideon Collectible Figure

Really? I didn't know that! What, was Lucas trying to save $ by using whatever costumes were already available on the lot? :lol

I believe that's more or less exactly what happened. They were behind schedule/over budget or something. Been a long time since I read about it.

Rick Baker did some of the pick up shots for the cantina aliens and talked about how they just used whatever they had laying around, I think the devil guy was one of them.

That's an interesting premise, unfortunately maybe only achievable DIY with cathode ray sabers.

I was always disappointed that regular Anakin only had one light up saber.

Multiple saber wielding looks fantastic.

It is such a shame HT will take the cheap route (except in their pricing.)

Long live ... the Empire.

Haha Gideon finally has his own catchphrase. Just as a sidenote those Imperial Officers were two of the best and most realistic I?ve seen in a long long time.

So better than any in Rogue One? Other than that I don't think we've seen any since ROTJ. Were there any in Solo? I don't think the recruitment officer he talked to when he enlisted counts lol...

It was a kind way of saying they?re better than of the **** they served up in the sequel trilogy. Now we can argue about Imperial vs. First Order, but lets not.

I only just finished Breaking Bad for the first time just before s2 of Mando. Moff Gideon is literally Gus Fring with an imperial outfit and darksaber :lol

OK, gotcha. I obviously was excluding the First Order but I agree, let's not go there. :lol

I'm waiting for a meeting between him and other imperials where he brings in a bucket of chicken to munch on while discussing world domination.

Given that chickens are actually canon in Star Wars, it's not too much of a stretch to say that fried chicken probably exists in Star Wars too.

Solo. Hmm. Officers are starred mainly in a cut scene where he is attending court-martial. It's a good scene which explains a lot, I'll never understand why they decided to leave it on the floor. (https://youtu.be/2TvzXPhzr4U)

Yes. Is that a bad thing tho? :)

It does.

Tip-Yip is a subspecies of chicken (and a call back to Ewoks and Caravan of Courage).

Fried Tip-Yip is on the menu at Galaxy’s Edge (which I ate), making it canonical through the park itself and a few books (cookbook, guide book, etc.).

I liked Titus Welliver, he's a 1/6 collector, I wonder if he's hoping for a figure lol

Hot Toys is proud to present the 1/6 collectable figure of Unidentified Imperial Officer™ from the hit series The Mandalorian™

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - The Mandalorian: Moff Gideon Collectible Figure

Would Sideshow still produce 1/6 Star Wars figures, a Titus Welliver Imperial Officer would have been more likely. This being said, i am all for new imperial officers from Hot Toys even though chances are low with very few efforts for human HS lately.
