U sound like you know more about lithographs than I do - but, suspect the more valuable SW artwork is before large scale printers were readily available, and selling by the 'net. Seems like there is a lot of Mando prints around.
I have been collecting prints and lithos for many years. I have too many so I have slowed down in recent years, but have a number of rare ones from past limited releases, Star Wars Celebrations, etc.
I buy these to keep, but there are modern prints that spike in value after selling out so it is not just older prints. Whether then or now, there are certain types of prints that are more desired than others.
It is a combination of things like the overall artwork, art style, artist’s following, edition size, film and character choice, variant availability, and whether it is part of a broader series.
The vast majority of prints offered by Acme Archives/Dark Ink Art don’t sell out immediately, but sometimes the ones that hit all the right notes do. Usually anything Star Wars offered by partner Bottleneck Gallery will sell out within minutes.
There is definitely a passionate collector community out there and sometimes demand far exceeds the very small edition sizes which are the norm.
