The armour on both Hunter & Echo does look like it's stuck in some weird limbo between realistic and animted. You take a look at Rex and it looks fully realistic, but these don't. Maybe it's how sleek this Commando armour is, not a lot of panel lines or surface detail, I dunno, but something definitely throws it off.

So torn on this one. No doubt Hot Toys won't do any more in the line. But what if they do ?

Hunter looks cool, headsculpt looks great. But figure itself looks relatively bland. But then the paint job looks great, especially on the helmet.

I'm only planning on getting one member of the Bad Batch to represent them in my collection. I have Cody now and Rex and 501st Trooper on PO. I think just one of these guys will do, 4 clones is enough for me.
I was planning on getting Hunter. He's the leader of the group and his armour is closest to standard commando armour.
However....
Now I see Hunter in figure form his armour looks so simplistic. Echo's armour is so interesting and detailed, especially compared to Hunter's.
My dilemma. I don't particularly care about Echo as a character and prefer Hunter but as a figure, I like Echo more. So do I get the one who looks cool but I don't care about or do I get the character I like but as I figure I dont find him interesting.
Why am I asking you guys, you'll just say get both

Yeah you're definitely right about showing off the headsculpts. Not many troopers you can do that with. And the sculpts look great too !

Yeah, I was literally hitting reply to type "just get both" when I read your conclusion. This is clearly not the best place for pragmatic advise on keeping collecting reasonable

Hunter’s release gives me hope that the rest of the team will get made eventually. This isn’t like a film where if a release doesn’t coincide with a movie’s release it likely won’t happen. A series that could be on for a while leaves them open to doing more characters down the line.

There's still 9 weeks of Bad Batch so plenty of time to announce more figures.

Pretty much. Waiting until it is about to ship - to see if it still is appealing - makes sense to me.

It would be typical of them to only make two out of five.

It would be typical of them to make an incomplete lineup, certainly.

Lack of teases for other CF99 members seems to be a good indicator others are likely not happening, but they may also be taking a wait and see approach to gauge demand.

Crosshair, at least, would be easy to do as most parts are shared with Hunter.

Tech would require more work, but at least he's normal sized.

Wrecker is the one that feels least likely, even though they could use the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian body.

They seem to be taking it slow with clone armor variants, otherwise I'd expect the Imperial Elite Squad trooper to be an easy figure to do.

If you absolutely only want to get one, then I say Hunter. You would have a display of clone leaders with Rex, Cody, and Hunter which leaves you open for future commanders if/when they do them.

I really like Echo and the figure looks great, but Hunter's simplicity in comparison is not a bad thing. I like that it's pretty much commando armor aside from the helmet.

Plus it's implied that Hunter has a history with Cody and there's mutual respect there, so it seems a natural fit to have him with both Cody and Rex.
