The only reason they're doing the new Mark II the way they are, with the removable panels and different head is for added value above the original release. I will agree that if they do release a figure more than once they do generally try to add something new or different to it to make it more worthwhile. It's not always the case but I think it shows that they really do give a ____ about what they do.

So will they release a new Mark III? No way to know for sure but all signs point to yes. I am sure it will have something new and fancy though to justify it's release above and beyond the Battle Damaged Mark III they released previously. No idea what that would be though. Maybe a fully unhelmeted Stark head all battered and bruised and a named hand. That way you can fully recreate him at the end of the Iron Monger fight.

Who knows. I can just hope like I said.

We'll see if your right. My guess is that they won't release another Mark III unless it shows up again in the latest Ironman film, otherwise get the current BD Mark III now before it goes up even more in value. Again, these are all guesses on my part, so please guys, don't think that what I'm saying is law. I'm just going by what I've observed so far in the Iron man,Terminator, and predator Hot toys line.

I didn't buy the BD Mark III for two reasons and that still remains true today.

1. The color is totally wrong
2. The larger chest and wider shoulders just make the too narrow waist and too skinny legs all the more obvious.

I'll stick with the regular Mark III unless they do a new one.

Well if they ever do re-make the Mark III, I hope they make the trunk area out of plastic rather than rubber. The paint-fading on the rubber is really annoying-especially for the price that we are paying for these figures.

They have even already made the adjustments:

all it needs is a different paint job:

:exactly:

Hope they'll make another Mark III BD (I doubt) w/ more accurate specs!

Well that's the improved Mark II mold but without the rivets. I just recolored it to the regular Mark III colors. I don't exactly get your point?

I'm really hoping once the official specs and pre-sale go up for Iron Monger we'll see a new Mark III not too long after or at the same time.

I don't follow batman too much so the Joker 2.0 and BBBW maybe rare exceptions, but as for the Mark II AU, they are re-making that one because it was in the most recent Ironman film with Don's head instead of Morton's head.

Ah, good point on the Mk II, technically it is a different character. I think as time goes on HT will find it very difficult not to cash in on collectors' wishes for re-releases of various licenses/figures. There are a whole raft of figures that could make them easy money on re-release: Robocop, Rambo, Mk I, Blade, Godfather... I'm surprised they haven't released a Blade 1 variant tbh.

Agreed, though I hope they acquire some licenses for characters we have not seen yet before they go mass re-releasing older lines that have been done already.

They have already done a lot of that recently and a lot of big licenses at that. When is it "enough" to justify re-visting old also high profile stuff that is both now really expensive on the secondary market and very dated quality-wise.

There's no answer to that, and I think HT does have a good balance currently of both. What I'm really saying is that I prefer to see new license acquisitions and new character possibilities rather than re-releases.

Believe me, nobody would want to see a re-release of the Mark i or others more than I would. But, if given the choice of the re-release of the Mark i or lines like the Matrix, Kill Bill, Riddick, etc being acquired I'm going with the new lines all day long. :lol

They have many more adjustments to make if you ask me.

My biggest pet peeve with the HT Iron Man figures is the fact that the figures can't do this:

I wish they were able to fully extend the palms like the Medicon Goku:

I wouldn't mind a final, definitive version of the Mk III. I have no problems with the BD Mk III, but I think Hot Toys has perfected making the IM armors so much that they can literally knock a third version out of the park.

It's the way they do the stupid hand guards. The original III and II actually can do it better than the IV and VI. The IV and VI look like they should be able to because of the hinge on that little piece of armor but because of the way HT designed it that hinge does't actually have move movement upwards to allow the palm to do that.

So you can do this:

But it requires you rotate the armor down. The III is better off because that armor is rubber and flexible but still far from ideal. My biggest pet peeve is actually the way the shoulder armor is attached. It should be attached to the torso not the shoulder. In other words it should not rotate with the arm. Makes the body look really weird when the arms are outstretched. You can get around it if the arm is outstretched to the side but you can't avoid it if the arm is forward.
