I saw a couple of people post this on the Hot Toys facebook page :lol

I made that years ago, when they debuted Charles Xavier. I'd forgotten all about it until I saw it on their page :lol

This is why I'm saying that HT needs to do this line justice or FOX needs to give it to someone else. I think Hot Toys ties up some of these licenses simply to keep other companies away from them (thereby cannibalizing their Iron Man and Batman sales). There's probably nothing in the contract that says they have to produce X amount of figures per year, but only give the licensor a cash outlay and Y% of what they do sell. So once HT shells out the upfront licensing fee they can take their sweet old time or produce nothing. This has probably been the case with Matrix, Avatar, Star Wars, Back to the Future, and half of the other licenses that HT is squatting on. It might well be a tactical move to hold down the competition. If another company like ThreeZero, Asmus, or even Blitzway or Enterbay had this line we probably would have had 2-3 figures in time for the movie and 3-4 sneaked or announced. If that's the game, maybe someone else will come up with a workaround.

Sadly, I am thinking this line either won't exist or be limited to 1-3 figures. The film's been released, the next likely announcements being Electro and Rhino indicates any possible DoFP will be several weeks away. While I understand announcements come anytime, HT lately been announcing figures prior to or around movie release. By the time ASM2 announcements are complete, they'll likely be working on GotG and the Angelina Disney flick announcements....

I hope I am wrong, I hate being Debi Downer but following their trends, it doesn't look good for mutant love.

Yeah - that's why I'm not expecting anything. Given the past history and what we know with upcoming movies/licenses (like GOTG), there's no sense in getting my hopes up here.

At this point if they ever show a Fassbender Magneto I'll probably pass out from the shock before a fangirl squee can even pass my lips. :dunno

Last year Howard mentioned the, having the Wolverine license at the end of an interview, two weeks later they showed the figure. There's no predicting this mental company. Unless it's Iron Man.

I wonder what it is about MCU movies vs. the X-Men when it comes to HT. We got the full Avengers line-up, SIX Winter Soldier figures, a ton of Iron Man, several Thors/Lokis and yet when it comes to X-Men not even superstars like Fassbender or Lawrence can get them to go beyond Wolverine. I'd love DOFP to get some love, particular 70's/Future Wolverine, Magneto, Mystique, Blink and Quicksilver.

Disney/Marvel is not gonna give the toy rights for X-Men n Fox thats holding their own movie license away from them

Actually I think they might be pushing forward some releases too make room for either this movie, Spiderman or Guardians of the Galaxy

I believe we can expect Electro, Rhino (both teased), Goblin and perhaps another Spiderman version before ASM is done. GotG, I suspect the team or minimum Star Lord and Angelina's Disney film maybe (hopefully) a few more from WS to round out cbm announcements for the summer.

I'd love DoFP announcement but not holding my breath.

HT does have the X-Men movie license. That's why they can produce Wolverine. And they showed a sneak of XFC Xavier a few months ago. They have the license they just aren't producing the figures beyond Wolverine.

They have yet to show any type of toys for DOFP beyond Marvel's minimates.

They have earlier movies, they have yet to show they have DOFP

'"Fugly" is harsh, they may not be your cup of tea, but the brand has earned its place in the collecting community.

Minimates have been around for more than 10 years, Diamond Select/Art Asylum has produced over a thousand of them so far, and there's no end to the line in sight. At specialty stores alone, there have been 59 dedicated waves of Marvel Minimates, and a good 25 waves exclusive to Toys R Us.

For what it's worth, the images shown for solicitation are never the final product. They often come with multiple accessories and alternate parts, and they are completely interchangeable within the brand. Pick up a pack sometime, they retail for around $8.00 a 2-pack, I think you'll be surprised at how cool they actually are in-hand.

just saw the film. Probably the best of the year so far. Aside from Wolverine/Logan, Professor and Magneto, I'd now definitely get Raven/Mystique. Jennifer Lawrence was great and kicked ass! In fact they should make a blue and regular version. Perhaps a DX? The PERS would go great with the blue skin and yellow eyes.
