Not sure if this was discussed already but, what happened to the email freebies? like the free hat and Crown? I havent heard anything from SS about it yet. Chris said that it will take some time but I just wanted to see if anyone heard anything new about it.

And please dont make Rick James cry.

I scored one of the Kanamits from the contest (thank you Sideshow) and haven't gotten an email yet regarding prize confirmation either. Given that they want to celebrate Halloween as well and the MASSIVE amounts of email they probably need to send (that buttload of prizes and all the orders as well), I'm not gonna worry too much until about Wednesday-ish since everything ran past business hours on Friday and Monday will be their first day back.

So you want to hear something painful? I got my SSE Dio on Friday, opened it at night and what a sight. Great statue, very impressed, but to my diaspointment there is a broken piece on the statue. :( The collar under the neck of Frank was broken. A moon shape broken piece of black hurt. I will call Sideshow on Monday, and hope they can do something for me. I know with such a low number produced it might be impossible. Oh and it is the lowest number statue I have. # 4/50:banghead

For all those that WHINE about the SSE dio going up in the middle of the night... I feel sorry for you missing out on something you really wanted, but I also hope you'll have a little more sympathy now for the International and European collectors that always complained about limited items being sold through the Sideshow newsletter. Maybe some of you understand now how much fun it is to miss out on limited items because they are sold in the middle of the night. And for the international and European collectors, this doesn't happen once a year during Spook, but pretty frequently throughout the year.
There was also a lot of whining about the International exclusive babysitter, which showed how some US collectors react when they can't get something they want right away... . I even remember reading insults addressed at the international and European collectors for this situation.
In the end, the US, international and European collectors all complain pretty much about the same things, but some only realize that, once they are actually confronted with a situation themselves.

Sideshow is a US company. Anything they get abroad is great but they are based in the US. Therefore, the times for new product listings are based on the US time zones. International collectors have no right to ^^^^^ about listing times just as US collectors wouldn't if Sideshow was based in England.

I don't think the issue is that the preorder popped up in the middle of the night, the issue is that it was a surprise. If Sideshow would've announced the preorder time (no matter what that time may be), I don't think we'd have any of the complaining that we're getting now.

I, for one, am glad the International guys and gals got a decent preorder time. But when The Monter misses a monster preorder, you know the system is broken.

(EDIT: Looks like Kabukiman kind of beat me to this.)

And again, it isn't so much that it went up in the middle of the night -- it's that people had no idea when it would be going up. I don't think anyone would be complaining about staying up if they had given some advance warning, but asking people to literally watch 24 hours a day for several days for something that would sell out in a matter of minutes doesn't seem very customer friendly. (For the record I couldn't care less about this diorama and I actually was there when it went up on the site, so I could've ordered it. I just think this was the wrong way to handle it.)

Of course we would. Except it would be more about how the site slowed down or emptied people's carts, or how there weren't enough to go around and it sold out before they got the page to load, etc. etc. etc.

Remember that self-imposed entitlementality I was talking about? Your post is quite disrespectful and entirely embarrassing. What gives you the right to tell a company how and when it is to release it's products? Regardless of where they're based, Sideshow is an INTERNATIONAL company (might want to look that word up), in case you hadn't noticed, who sells products worldwide. There's also that little "EU" link on the front page and the EU "in stock" options on every product page. Or did you just assume it stands for "expanded universe?":rotfl

Quoted for truth!

Case in point. Find the few who initially posted complaints but have since been converted or won one in a contest. It's funny how opinions change... Too bad there aren't fickle pickle smileys for fair-weather SSC fans! :p

Not so angry at Sideshow anymore. That was my kneejerk reaction to the situation when I woke up from only four hours of sleep having missed the one item I wanted during Spook. That, after sitting "vigilant" by my computer for the previous 18 hours!

But the whole thing has made me reevaluate my style of collecting. I still heartily want the SSE Dio, and am on the hunt. I also have a feeling that no matter how future SSE Dios are offered up for sale, I am going to have to resort to the aftermarket to actually aquire one. And more than likely at a greatly inflated price. This is one line I would like to have the entire run of, and I think that is going to create many challenges for me over the next two years.

Good luck to everyone who wants this piece!

:D

I have to agree totally.

I know how you feel FS. Just wait till the next PPO and test your reaction when your PC/internet connection won't connect until the item sells out. It's a very helpless feeling that then gets you angry. It's important to remember that these are just toys/statues, and there are much more important things in life.

Already been through it when I tried to add the Faux Bronze Daredevil to my FB Wolverine. Missed that one of course, as there were only 20 of each. So I flipped my FB Wolverine, and now karma is biting me in the a$$!

I cannot imagine how fast an edition of 50 would sell through on PPO.

Thanks for the words of wisdom Mesa!
