Really?! It's not Sideshow's fault nor anyone else's that for whatever reason, aspects of your life prevented you from being there when it went up. While it no doubt happened to others who wanted it badly, still others who also wanted it, got it. I like the SSE variants and I got one, so did MadCow and OzzFan as well and every other individual who ordered one (still haven't seen any flip-listings on ebaY). While some woke up early to get theirs, I waited until it was posted and then crashed after I'd ordered it. Which, if you wanted it as badly as you're claiming, is something you should've done, yourself.

Shift the blame, refocus it all you want, you made the choice to be anywhere else but online when it went up. You knew the run was going to be EXTREMELY limited. Criswell Predicts warned that not only was it going to be "extremely limited," but to stay "vigilant" which should've told you that at some point between that video and the next video going up, it was going to be listed. Watch it again if you don't believe me (here). Bro, it's nobody's fault but your own. Sorry.

I think Sideshow was in the wrong here, and I don't know why you consistently feel the need to defend them about EVERYTHING. You're seriously condemning someone for not being online 24/7 until the piece was released? Some people have lives and responsibilities that can't take a back seat to our hobbies.

Thanks to everyone at Sideshow, this was the best Spooktacular yet.
I am sad it is over.

This guy.... First of all, I don't stick up for them EVERY time. You'd know that if you took your opinionated self on a stroll through my post history before labeling. That's like me saying all you do is just whine about everything (which, let's be honest, wouldn't be far from the truth anyway). In this case I'm not sticking up for them either, I'm calling BS on what I read. I'm simply saying it's funny how everyone who didn't score one is blaming Sideshow (with one exception I've seen). Sideshow didn't force anyone to go to sleep. It was a choice each individual made on their own. Live with the choice you made! I don't cry if I miss a PPO. Nor do I blame Sideshow for my life interfering with me missing an item's listing. That's like me chastising Sideshow because they ran the Hell Boy PF chat contest while I was taking my daughter trick-or-treating. Could I have told her no and stayed home and in the chat? ABSOLUTELY! Instead, I made a decision and understood that in doing that, there was the strong possibility I'd miss out. Be responsible for your own actions. We're all adults here, mostly, and those who are, should act like it.

I saw the Criswell Predicts. I heard him say "black and white," "extremely limited" and "stay vigil." As a result, I stayed up until it was listed, and crashed shortly afterward. I wasn't the only one who got it either which means several other people payed attention and understood the instructions as well. Then there's those who woke up early enough to get on the wait list first thing after seeing it no longer available and actually confirmed a score with Chris that morning, yet another opportunity missed by people who either slept in or didn't wait list that morning.

So far, Fury is the only one I've seen personally, who is actually taking responsibility for missing it. He admits he went to sleep. Does he want one, absolutely as he's willing to pay near $300 for one (I suggested he await a potential conversion). But bottom line, sure he's disappointed about the choice of time for release, but he's not blaming anyone else for the choice he made.

That is a very poor argument. The point is we didn't know WHEN (day or time) the SSE Dio would go up. Are you saying I should have stayed up every night of Spooktacular to be able to order the Priest? Guess what, he never showed up! Despite the fact he was previewed well before the SSE dio or Leia.

It is Sideshow's fault for not following the scheduel they had last year. Chriswell would predict something and that item would go up the next day. Some times that happend this year, othertimes it didn't. I remember one of them was for the Priest. Guess what? Still no priest!

If something is going to be highly limited it needs to be a PPO or have an announced time, or at least sometime during the day. Sure the EU guys had a better chance at night, but I think a majority of Sideshow's customers are USA based.

So I agree with the Monster, it was Sideshow's fault. They honestly can't expect us to spend 24/7 on Spooktacular. The Monster missed out on what he wanted and I mine never even showed up. Scheduels are greatly needed.

I actually think it's a strong argument. Isn't the whole "random" thing the point of Spooktacular? We don't know what, we don't know when and we don't know where? I know there's no priest. Not happy about it either, but what can we do? I'm not gonna go post how Spook was a fat waste of time because they didn't release the one figure I wanted. They'll release it when they do. If I miss it, well, I'm screwed to find it on the secondary market. That's life. And honestly man, a PPO for 50 items? Not worth the time or the effort. Be honest. You'd be more bent for taking the time off for a PPO to get screwed when it closes after 30 seconds! But the thing we all love about Spooktacular is the absolute randomness of it all. It wouldn't be Spooktacular if there was a set schedule, would it? And who has the right to justify what time something is released other than Sideshow? It's their product.

WOW! What an EXCELLENT Spooktacular it was!

Chris and Dennis and Alex and Mike (am I forgetting anyone?) were GREAT in the chat. Especially Chris, who spent more hours there than many of us combined.

Fantastic, generous prizes as usual. Sideshow really goes out of their way to show their fans that they value them. We value you too, Sideshow people! The hard work you put into what you do clearly shows, and we all had a GREAT time! I can't wait till next year!

I second that!!! I had more fun this year for spooktacular than last year and already can't wait for next spook!!! Sure there was less freebies this year, but better contests I think and I think that made it easier for more people to have a shot at winning something. Some of the freebies this year were hard and kept us hunting for awhile...I don't know any other company that does this every year and gives away so many items. And we still have black and white days and xmas!! Sideshow is great and I'm just excited and glad that they give us some contests and free items because the certainly don't have to!! So, Thanks sideshow for an awesome spooktacular. I love the videos, comics, games...well, everything!!! Thanks!!!! :banana :banana

icruise,
One thing you may want to consider is how often collectors overseas miss out on things. There have been many times that they are either at work or it's in the middle of their night when offers or items become avail.

And those of us who have been around here a while have heard them complain that SS caters to the US.

I'm glad to see items going up 24/7 for Spook. It's the right thing to do, IMO.

Now, I got a B&W dio on the waitlist. I have to be up every morning around 5:30 EST to go to work. I just happened to get on the waitlist early enough for it to convert. I couldn't stay up all night because I need to go to work and function like a human (and not a zombie! :p) for the week leading up to Halloween. If I wasn't I probably also would have been upset and jealous of the people who did manage to get them.

However, that's kind of the point of these ultra-limited pieces. I've missed MANY of these in the past. In fact, this is the very first one that I've ever been able to get. I've always been too late. People also called for PPO during the bronze Bowen stuff, and I don't think it really made it any easier to get one than when they were just up during the newsletter.

When something is so limited, not everyone will be able to get one. That's why they're limited. Sometimes you get lucky, other times you don't. I'm not counting on being able to get the Dracula and Creature ones. I will try to go for them, but if I don't, I won't mind. I can't have all of them.

The SSE dio going up during the middle of the night was the only thing really I think SS messed up on. Something like that should probably have been put up during a normal period when things go up. Other than that I thought Spook was as fun as ever at least it was for me.

Sam-The thing is SS is a US company so in all honesty they should cater to those that make up the majority of their fan base. There have been international products put out for those folks like the Baby Sitter and a couple others as well. Plus they get a chance to order things on the site like anyone else.

As far as putting things up 24/7 during spook the only reason its a non issue is outside of the SSE Dio everything else was TBD on the ES. Now, if they where all small ES pieces then I would totally disagree. No offense to SS because I love them but I'm not going into work everyday tired as hell waiting around for something to go up.

I can see your point but for most (if not all) that stuff you guys miss you know when its going up. There is either a set PPO time or it will be with the newsletter which you know when will be posted. This was just out of the blue.

Honestly, I am heartbroken over the SSE Dio situation. I was angry enough to send off an email to Sideshow on the morning after I woke up after only four hours of sleep to find the thing I most desired sold out already. And yes, I am on the waitlist, but it has not converted yet. I'm sure many of you have read my complaints before, as I was in the chat and checking the new products section every four or five minutes for eighteen or more full hours just prior to the SSE going up for sale. I was also shamelessly begging for clues, hints, or anything in the chat all day, and especially just prior to going to sleep. Sideshow staffers offered not a bit of help, even though there were a negligible number of us in the chat, and personally I don't think it would have hurt to give us a clue. Seriously, if they told me it was going up in the next 24 hours, I would have staved off sleep and stayed at the computer until I saw it! But I was offered no such help.

I'm not so much angry at Sideshow any longer, but am of course still desperate to add this SSE to my humble collection. I am very selective in what I do collect, Sideshow has earned my business with their extraordinarily fine product. However they have broken my heart with this situation. They are awesome to say the least. The best product on the market, so many fun giveaways, and not just during Spooktacular either, and all the other ways they include the collectors in what they are doing.

My genuine hope is that I am able to obtain two of these SSE Dios, because I want to have the opportunity to make another Freaks member as happy as I would be to have the piece. I think you might know who you are too, Monster!

I'm working on many angels to obtain the SSE, Want to Buy ad here in freaks, a dealer on the east coast who may get one, bagelsncheesey's fine and fun contest, etc. I am working earnestly, and putting in many hours beyond Spooktacular to start what I hope will become the centerpiece of my collection, the SSE Dioramas from Sideshow.

Thank to everyone who offered their support during Spooktacular. You fellow freaks have made this situation bearable. Well, you and the Belvedere!

Well I didn't get one either - and I was up!! :lol Just didn't check the SSC site - thinking they wouldn't put anything up that late. I can sympathize with all those that missed out that really wanted this piece - but I don't think it's fair to go bashing on Sideshow. They knew it was going to be craziness when that piece was up - and well they were going by their motto - "Sleep is for the weak" - those that stayed up scored a fine piece. I don't see anything wrong with that - it's their product - they can put it up whenever they want - they knew it would sell out no matter what time it happened. We all miss out on things....sadly that is just part of this hobby - especially when it comes to extremely limited pieces.
