I don't know how much more right one could be? You are billed for a service. Don't pay it and you don't receive said service.

Then you haven't been watching FOX because they are so against the homeowner that some have resorted to even making fun of the way he talks.

The whole thing is just inconceivable to so many because the majority of areas don't use policies like this. It's stupid and an accident waiting to happen. In this case, it did.

No I haven't. Then again I said "plenty" in the media were siding with this clown not "all". I don't agree with some individuals at Fox if they were making fun of this guy, but if they were the only ones portraying him as the irresponsible idiot he is then kudos to them for actually reporting the news responsibly. It sure beats listening to some of the bleeding heart liberals at CCN who painted this guy as an innocent victim in this mess.
And please, instead of accusing Fox of painting this guy as a dummy because he's from the south why don't you remove those rose-coloured glasses of your's and join the rest of us in the real world. I saw this guy being interviewed on TV and to say he's a "few short of a six pack" is an understatement. If Fox portrayed him as a dummy it's because he is a dummy, not because of where he's from. Quite frankly, the only thing this guy did that even remotely hinted to the existance of intelligent life was to not risk his own life trying to save his pets.

Its just tough interwebz talk. Well, not just interwebz, but you hear it all the time. "If I was there I would have.....", blah blah blah. 99% of the people would have stood there and watched it burn, regardless of what they like to say or want to believe they would have done. Fear, rational or irrational, will win every time when it comes to people and their tough save the day talk.​

Am I gonna run into a burning house to save an animal? Hell no! I don't wanna die in a fire, that would suck ass! I'm okay with admitting my own cowardice and fear of pain and/or death. Most people aren't.​

The remarks of some people never cease to amaze me. I'd love to know how many of these "computer lions" have the slightest clue what they're talking about. As hard as it might be for some people to accept, the fires you see in movies like Backdraft and Ladder 49 are not even remotely close to what happens in real life. Here's the only thing I do know about these brave individuals ....within seconds of entering a "fully involved" structure the first thing they'd realize is they might as well just close their eyes because they wouldn't be able to see 1 inch in front of their faces. They'd be able to hear the fire, and feel the heat [the intensity of which they'd never even remotely experienced before], but they wouldn't be able to see it until they were almost right on top of it. Right about then, they'd turn around while peeing themselves, and start crying for their mommies while running for the front door, which hopefully for their sake they'll be able to locate.

Remember, this guy is not a resident of the city with the fire department. He pays no taxes to that city. The service is offered by the city to outlying areas. He admitted that he had a fire there before and that they'd made an exception to their rule for him before, allowing him to pay the fee the day after they responded to a fire at his place (actually his son's house, but at the same location...Gene Cranick's words in an interview with Keith Olberman). Even after that, he didn't pay the fee the following years, saying, "I figured they'd come put it out even if I didn't pay."
He knew he didn't pay. It's that simple. Like everyone else he felt entitled to benefits and services that he REFUSED to pay for. I guess it was a matter of principal to him. Well this is what happens. I just don't see why this is hard for some to understand? Plus read the comments from Woodsy from an actual firefighters point of view. It all makes sense.

Good find BadMoon!, I hadn't seen that before. This guy really is starting to sound stupider by the minute...if that's even humanly possible. I'm actually astounded that after all the info that's come out in the past fews days anyone could be stupid enough to try and defend this guy and his actions, or rather lack of actions.

I am not saying risk your life, that's not really how I meant it. But maybe look for a door? Open it? I don't know. I wasn't there, I have no idea what the fire was like, don't know if there was a window they could break. Dogs and cats can jump. I am not even sure if they did this, if they tried by doing this, or if the fire was already consuming the entire house by the time they got there.
I guess all I would like to hear is the firefighters say "we would have rescued (or tried to rescue) the pets, but the fire was just too bad and we couldn't"
If they said that somewhere, then excellent. I have three cats and I know that I would do what I could to save them, but they are mine, I understand that. But I can't help fighting for pets, they can't do much for themselves. I am so mad at that man for being an a$$ and not paying his dues.

This will be of small consolation to you, but those animals would have been long dead before firefighters ever arrived seeing as this was a volunteer dept. with the response times being significantly longer than that of full-time dept's. As for burning alive, that is simply not true. It is the smoke that kills both humans and animals alike, not the fire itself. They would have succumbed to the toxic smoke, perhaps even within seconds of breathing it in. And they would not have been located near windows or doorways. They would have panicked and tried to find a safe hiding place, usually in a closet, under a bed, etc......

Well, I am still loking for justification for the pathetic actions of this group of firefighters. All I am seeing is rationalization. And really...not very good rationaliation at that.

Saving life & property should never be about money.
They completely failed their jobs as firefighters.

It appears from the comments of a few select individiuals around here this moron in South Fulton doesn't own an exclusive rights clause where stupidity is concerned. Hopefully, if Fox News interviews these two clowns they'll portray them as idiots because that's what they are, and not just because they live in SoCal and Singapore....
