Well think back on how this whole mess first started. Trevor was actively on the boards, selling sculpts on his own for $35 a pop. That was when Q started selling counterfeit sculpts on eBay, for a higher price. And that appeared to be what drove Trevor away from the boards.

Actually what drove Trevor away was the threatening PM's that Q was sending Trevor because of the accusations that were being made at the time that Q was recasting Trevor's heads and Q was denying that he was recasting the heads. The threats made Trevor angry and he made the decision to leave. At least that is what Trevor stated in a email I received from him.

I never understood this. Why even spend time worrying about this? I mean actually worrying. Get a damn life and worry about what you are doing. Buy what you want from whom you want. If you don't like their business practices simply don't buy. There are counterfeit items sold everywhere and for just about any product. So what.

Its easy. He recasts, the majority of us wont buy in support of the sculptors.
On the other hand, some will, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

""THATS" the reason for the new post.. that he has such a good "in" that he is getting sculpts before the artist releases them.

if there is a time to catch the mole this might be it. how many could trevor have left off the hook so one could be pawned? would love to know who his 007 is...

It was already solved a few weeks ago, and Dave didn't want a witch hunt and SilentSurfer didn't want it going any further so it was all shut down, but the problem was solved. So, this is pretty much old news.

For me, it matters because as a collector/fan and a mod, we need to figure out good policy and community behavior we can support to help make the forum a good place for collectors and artists, and to maximize the well-being of the community as a whole. To do that, we need to discuss these things, figure out what's going on, and find solutions. Sticking our heads in the sand while people with no respect for artists or the community do things to harm both doesn't help here.

And thanks for the clarification toyadventurer. Q was booted off right after all that mess transpired, and Dave has done all that he can to keep him from doing more harm. But the damage was done I guess. A real shame.

This really sucks though. I never liked Q from the get-go so it comes as no surprise when everyone else learned he's a little shat. Terrible what he did to Trevor. But that's it... he's a little shat is a very little world.

I second the notion Sam. Anyone with any respect for the moral code of this issue will care. I care because I'm (either some or all) a fan, supporter, admirer and friend to many of the customizers and artists here. I respect their talent and I hate to see a thief come and steal their vision when their sleeping and go and bank off it. It would be great if comradery outshined greed and personal interest but that's a silly dream and it doesn't. There are enough of the "I don't cares" out there to keep recasters in business.

I can sit here and go off on a tear about this s__t but it's pointless. The one thing that I am realizing every time we open up a thread, speak out recasters by name and especially post links to their garbage... we're giving them free advertisement. All the "don't knows" and "who cares" that didn't know where to get this crap... well, we're pointing them in the right direction. Thank God there are people who respect the moral code and know better than to fund these thieves. Salute to you brothers


The bottom line is every solution that gets mentioned on how to combat this is a catch 22. There's always a down side to it. Like I'm a believer in exposing the pig; my first thoughts would be to make banners exploiting and s_itting on the thieves and plaster it all over every hobby related FB page like OSR and so on. What will that achieve? It would probably bring heat to the people that we're defending and on top of it all.... more free advertising for the pigs.

I've been after Russ' Barlow and They Live sculpts forever.... but I'll continue to wait on the real deal.

I'm right behind ya bro. I've been periodically PM'ing him for about a year about those. I missed him by minutes at Famcon. Good thing is he said that he has some time now and he was going to make these available soon..... well, he also told me that the last few times we spoke about it over the last year .

I had these recasts right in front of my face and it was never a thought in my mind. Hang in there brother. Our patience will pay off and we'll score the genuine article

Just to clarify mighty.this thread is old...including Q having Trevor's newest headsculpt....issue was solved to the best of the ability that it could be resolved....same head Q is selling was the same headsculpt that's in question now.....you guys should try to read most of the threads that pop up....or else we will keep talking about the same thing over and over and over again....…

gotcha swedish, but inquiring minds do want to know..

this q guy haunted me for feedback, when i found out it was him and these were recasts that i am not going to use, i pretty much wrote the money off. i even bought a full painted they live, and sent him 2 hands to do the match. i found out that is even a recast. my buy list is this.... a dude head, painted shoes, they live head, and i think i bought a pair of short boots? not entropy boots. looks like hot toys.
