I tried the selling your blood thing before but they say it takes weeks to register and going through the process. I did donate blood twice. But after hearing the Red Cross sell their blood to Johnson & Johnson, when I was interviewed for a position there, I just got turned off.
I guess if I ever need blood, I won't feel bad since I did donate.

Flex pay and split up payments help a lot. Plus some reward points. Pace yourself.

Most of my collection will be focused on some statues and some 1/6.

Funny. My 92 year old neighbour keeps on trying to talk me into robbing a bank with him. I swear he's serious.

Honestly it's just a matter of budget. If you want a figure bad enough you'll sacrifice the movie you were going to see or so on. That's how I do it.

:lol wonder what the getaway car would be.......a mobile stroller? :D

Nope. He keeps talking about a helicopter. He's from Poland and fought in the war and was in a prision camp for a couple of years. I think he knows how to fly one.
I'm pretty sure he was in the mafia as well...
Interesting guy.

Hi,im new member to the forum but read it alot before i joined. im 24 and on part time wage (above 500 under 1000 pounds) and trying to get into collecting figures, busts or any film/video game memorabilia. with being in a recession and bills to pay how do you guys afford all the hot toys/sideshow busts? i don't mean to be personal but im getting the play arts kai mgs figures and thats costly at 60 pound each to me but i see you guys with loads of hot toys and then talking about the W/M bust (850 pounds) and it blows my mind.do you have amazing jobs or rich parents? how old are the collectors on this forum and what do your girlfriend/wives think of your hobby? (mine hates it :( )

It's hard to get a large collection at first if you have a low income. I was in college and waiting tables when I first started. It took me about a year to break 20 figures in my collection all of them being hot toys. After I completely filled the two detolfs that I owned (3 figures a row 24 total) I began selling figures that had increased in value to buy newer figures that had come out. Basically if you are patient and don't get to attached to the figures in your collection you can actually make your collection self-sustaining this way. I usually am able to buy two figures with the proceeds from my selling just one figure. Of course now that hot toys is going re-issue crazy it won't be as easy to flip your figures in this manner, but I'm sure that some of the figures will still increase in value down the road. Owe and sorry your woman hates your collecting luckily my woman really supports my hobby.

You're not married blackmask, are you? :) Would be quite difficult for someone who's married to get alienated from the 'society.' And occasionally relishing those little Blessings like fancy clothing, expensive meal, etc. is not a very bad idea. Anyways, who am I to say otherwise. Hope you wouldn't mind. But I surely hope that you have a nice friend circle and not just folks on the board. :wave

Like many, for me its balancing. I prioritise things and yes, have been collecting for the past six years. I believe the mantra is to be passionate and not obsessive about collecting.

LOL :monkey3
I didn't mean to sound like a weird gross homeless weirdo,
I have a job, I take care of bills, and then at the end I have some money left, I am not married (No way, at least not yet!:monkey4)

what I was trying to get at is that regular non collector people use that much money on other things, cigarretes, alcohol, expensive clothes, I mean, do I really need a 100-150 dollar pair of pants? or do I need to go every Friday and spend 50 on food and another 50 on booze? or 20-25 going to the movies and buying crappy Pop corn and stale soda?
no, not really, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I watch what I eat, I guess the point of my post was that I don't indulge on those things,
I just buy regular food I buy regular clothes, the only indulging I do is toys and movie related stuff, so I still spend money, I still hang out with my friends but we do regular stuff like hang out on their house playing games or watching movies,
you would be surprised how much money people spend on just regular stuff,

Honestly it's just a matter of budget. If you want a figure bad enough you'll sacrifice the movie you were going to see or so on. That's how I do it.
exactly,

Take the seed from Colombia or Mexico

so MONEY does Grow on Trees? :horror
