How do you feel about Hot Toys doing second runs of Vader, Chewie, Han and Obi-Wan?

I don't like the idea that they are being rereleased. While I'm happy those that missed out have a chance. But those who waited too long or sat on the fence, you knew the risks. Consider yourselves lucky. While I hope to never part with my collection, I feel that the exclusivity is also a huge factor in why these are so expensive. I hope HT isn't going the SS route and doing open ended runs.

I missed out on Han the first time around because of the rapid release of all the SW figures at the end of last year - early this year; in the period of what seemed to be a month and a half I received Chewie, Obi-Wan, Luke, Vader, and 3PO. My hobby funds only run so deep so I simply ran out of hobby cash...I'm not willing to go to the poor-house for these figures and only use hobby funds I allot myself. I'm grateful to get a second chance at Han and also have to consider the purchase of Leia, Boba Fett, etc...and have Ant-Man and the Hulkbuster on order. I get that everyone else had to deal with the same issue of having all the figures released in rapid succession; I had to make a decision and Han didn't make the cut because I knew they would make another version sometime in the future.

I don't like that they are being reissued but I'm "happy" for those that missed out.....

Lol, say how you really feel.

Disney now calls the shots, your "collectibles" don't mean crap any longer.

What's with some people's mentality?

The way the Disney SW marketing machine is, I would expect to see many, many re releases, of popular products. HT exclusivity in the SW realm will be a thing of the past. This is pretty solid info from my Disney contact. SW will be around for the next 10 years I the spotlight. If you want to be a happy collector, come to grips with that now. Collect what you like and don't ever look at it as an investment.

last fall I bought the Han, and picked up R2 while pre ordering Luke, Leia and 3PO. I jumped on the wait list for Chewie. I ended up deciding these were to pricey for me and ended up eating the non refundable deposit on Luke and 3PO. I missed the email about the Chewie conversion earlier this week and just got charged the deposit. Not looking forward to throwing away another $25 on a deposit and Han is looking mighty lonely. I'm thinking about jumping back in to this line now.

Why are people having a hard time finding Hasbro figures though?

I resisted the Han and Chewie the first time. I did regret it a bit but there was no way I was going to pay the prices they were at. I am definitely taking advantage of this second chance as I used the march coupon and preordered the set this morning.

Surprised SS still has these for preorder- figured they would have sold out by now.Hmmmmm

probably will be an open ended order for some pre-designated time to get an idea on numbers, then will finalize the allotment to be produced.
until wave 3 of the re-issue's gets produced in the fall....LOL

Go to Star Wars Helmets and you will find more info than you would ever want to know about the original props and the recasts thereof.

Thanks for that - it's actually a great read! It's also confirmed for me that I was right to strip the weathering off my sand trooper as most of the stormtroopers in the movie (including the ones pictured on the old Kenner card image) are actually 'stunt' stormtroopers. It feels pretty cool to know I have both kinds.

Now that I paid the deposit, happy, excited and relieved. However still annoyed I couldn't coupon this and slightly worried without the coupon I might get a customs hit and I know in June-July I have HT budgeting issues. So actually I'm still feeling all over the place.

Good tip on the Obi Wan! Used this months coupon for that as I missed out on using it with the waitlist offered Han/Chewie

As long as enough waitlist orders are sent, they will keep making them.

Anyone who's is buying multiples.....just keep it to yourself , we all know what your really up to......
