so i guess these guys are the true collectors then

Do you even have a clue how many figures HT produces? :lol Even if this ****** and a few others got a few hundred, that wouldn't equal the thousands purchased by collectors. If you curb the tittybaby for a second and stop and think, it is entirely feasible for legitimate, hardcore collectors to part with their dollies as well on occasion. :huh

And it would be a rare thing for any such collector to sell for retail price or below despite what they could get for a given figure.

If you look, more often then not, the newbs who're talking ____ about those selling HT figures for above retail, have F/S threads trying to get top dollar for their MEZCO, McFarlane and NECA kiddie garbage.

While I 101% agree with Nam, I am happy as ____ that I will be finally getting my Tumbler, Mark 1 and Wolverine because of my stupidity during their original release! :nana:

Hey, at least i'm not a hypocrite and admit to making poor decisions by cancelling my preorders on these 3. :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

After I get these 3, HT better stop with their recent practices dammit :lol

LOl went looking, it appears it it SORTA confirmed we're getting another Wolverine, just no clue WHICH wolverine.
Kojin has posted that Hot toys is giving him a shot at Wolvie.

I started collecting 1/6 too late for the first 3 Aliens USCM figures and I just missed the Predator 2 Elder. In those early days yes you probably could find posts with me wishing for rereleases of those. Once you start selling things though you can see the other side of the coin. Some of HT rereleases now have impacted me and ultimately will mean me buying less HT - not as some matter of principle against their rereleases (A - I'm not actively seeking valuable items) - but because I won't have the kind of money from sales that I otherwise would have (B - I will however take advantage of an item's value if it happens to be higher than initial retail). And again, I don't buy to flip. I couldn't afford to do that even if I wanted to.

And about the figure's I missed, I would have paid aftermarket for the marines at least. However I just never got the chance with the continual onslaught of new stuff I wanted. I may yet do so if HT never remake the marines and I have a gap in other purchases. The P2 Elder will very likely get remade so its only good sense at this point to hold off on that one.

I wonder how much the 'grail' status of these 2.0 releases will have collectors buying these irrespective of their real interest in the figure, ie just for the perceived desirability factor. Collectors now find themselves able to afford something that previously they couldn't. They passed on Mk 1 at $125, but now they'll shell out $200 and still think they got a bargain 'cause a month ago the figure was going for $600+.

It's a fair price increase to pay for my stupidity :lol

I've only been into 1/6 for a couple of years. When I started buying these things I didn't realise that if I didn't PO or buy a figure within a short time of its release, then I'd be putting myself in a hyper-inflationary secondary market. So I'm with you Jye. Nam speaks a lot of sense and I will vehemently oppose this self-defeating re-release strategy by HT.

The minute I've taken delivery of Mark 1 and Blade.

Well...yeah :lol

I'm looking forward to seeing a plethora of leaky-assed DX02 figures on ebay when the re-rerelease of the TDK suit hits. With HT's budget cuts due to poor, lacking sales causes that figure to turn into a ____stain in weeks, the OG version will skyrocket and everybody who talked ____ about it will have to munch a big bowl of crow. :lol

All based on the premise that people buy more figures and don't use the money for other things. At any rate, people that do that still only account for an insignificant portion of the market. This thread is like FOX news. :dunno

Prove that statement, because I can easily back mine based on the multiple WTT/FS threads here and the sellers on ebay. Even if a flipper only bought to flip, but spent the profits on more HT to flip, they'd be proving my point since HT still gets the funds from the initial purchases.

If I were in the market for an Original Costume Bats I'd be inclined to look around for the TDK OC version over the BW Bats. They can be had for around $200 now, and for that money you don't get the updated sculpt, first-night-out outfit and switch out mouths... but you also don't get the brittle joints, dodgy knee pads and dust-magnet suit. I'm surprised given all the QC issues that appear to have beset the BW Bats figure that the after market value for OC Bats has fallen like it has.

Good point, I was actually torn which one to get.

I ended up with Toyfair version but not having the mangler bothers me :lol

Coming from someone who sold his original OC! :slap

Both have their weaknesses and their strengths no doubt.

Bale sculpt kicks ass was my primary reason for what I did.

Give me a minute... I'll make up some ____ and make it seem real. I don't have any facts, but who cares about those... As long as it sounds plausible. :lol
