How do you rank the Predator films now?

It’s going to take a Christopher Nolan type Predator/Alien reboot/sequel. To make Hollywood realize that audiences want a good story and acting in their horror films. Once that happens the floodgates will open and we will start seeing more effort and money put into the horror genre.

It also doesn't help that they havent hired any real action stars in the lead in the past few films. Who wants to watch The Pianist fight predators? How about Bruce Willis or someone that is actually fits into this type of role?

Ridley Scotts Alien prequels seem to be the only hope atm. But his last few films have sucked hard, and word is the prequels will now be in 3D. So who knows how they will turn out

Predators was a great sequel, predator movies from the start have always been fun and never about mainstream, i don't get what people except to see when they see these movies.

it offered character development (for the Predator) which i found to be very interesting.

I do not understand how someone can watch AVP then AVPR and think that AVP was better. I know it's basically like choosing between two pieces of crap but I really thought AVPR had awesome designs, was fresh enough (it didn't try to copy the previous films), and of course, had lots of cool killings. I can't sit through AVP. Boring characters, horrible script/acting, wonky story. That said, Predators is becoming overrated and Predator will always be tops.

Predators was a poor reflect of the first movie which copied all the best bits but did not improve on them. It was arnie and danny Glover to a lesser extent that made the first two hits. Pity that after over 20 years this is all they could come up which, but in saying that if it was your first movie with the predator you would enjoy it. look its good but it could have been great. After seeing it i cancelled the two predators items i had pre ordered. Sideshow lets see a Dutch PF not all that AVP crap please.

They both have equally BAD characters, horrible script/acting, wonky story so in that aspect they cancel each other out.

The Wolf in AVP-R is pretty cool, but i would't say he's cooler than the Celtic Pred, Scar or Chopper. The PredALIEN is GOOFY as HELL. The PredALIEN hurt AVP-R, more than it helped...the QUEEN boosted AVP up a couple of points in my book.

I found Requiem's overall scale to be far too small, while AVP's overall was much miore fitting for the 2 franchises. Both films are rather dark, but AVP-R is OUTTA-CONRTOL DIFFICULT-TO-SEE-WHAT's-HAPPENING dark.


Overall these are two average films, AVP offered more for both franchises.

IMO Predators had 10x the character development that predator 2 had

I'm just surprised, predator 2 was widely known as one of the worst movies of it's kind since it was made and now that predators is out and it's a solid, solid film but can never live up to fanboy expectations so now all of a sudden predator 2 gets love??

Don't get it.

Oh and god forbid we get an Oscar winning actor in a lead role instead of a a rock or John cena or vin diesle because they are "action stars".

Some people can't be pleased I guess. Hey only my opinion.

I like how some people here think their opinion matters over whats written or done, some people say AVP movies aren't cannon just because they don't like them. It's fine to call them predators and also fine to call them Yautja. in fact I prefer Yautja because when saying that word there is no mistaking what you're talking about. Predator is a such a common word, actually one thing that urks me about the series, wish they were commonly called something else, here hoping Yautja catches on.

It's actually a fact that the EU stuff is not canon. And no person over the age of 12 will call a Predator a "yautja".

Or can we call them Hish too? Because that's what the new book says. They're called Hish, and they can change from Male to Female whenever the feel like it.

Oh and btw, I can almost assure you that if you walked up to someone and said "Hey, you guys see that yautja?? Wasnt he cooool?!" people would be like "What the ____ are you on? Jesus..."

You say Predator...everyone knows.

The more and more I think about Predators the more and more I continue to lower my overall grade on it. If it wasn't for the great characters the movie would of been ____.

I need to see it again but I fear if I do I will hate it.

I'll take the Predalien any day over the s___ty makeup effects in AVP. Once the Predator takes his mask off it's cringe inducingly bad.
Also the Preds in AVP look like linebackers, way out of character.

That's what I like most about the AVP Hot Toys versions, they don't have that linebacker appearance, so they're an improvement on the movie Preds.

I watched AVP-R (complete) for the first time today. Horrible flick, the makers must have known that since you can hardly see anything they made it so dark .
