How much packaging do you keep?

I keep everything as well.. Like what has been said in the previous posts, it is good to keep them in case you need to move them. :)

Hi!

I keep everything too. With my financial situation going up and down right now, I keep the boxes just in case I have to resell something. But it is a good idea to keep the boxes for transporting your statues from here to there.

Cheers

Moving figures is why I started keeping in the first place... I was concerned that lightsabers would start snapping in half if I wasn't using the packaging. Then it just started snowballing from there.

Probably should start using my attic space as nothing's currently being done with it.

I keep everything... Maybe not HT shippers though, if it's from Sideshow they ship HT in a bigger shipper that just creates space. PF's shippers are basically the same size as the art box.

Question for those that fold up the boxes of their PF's shipper or art what do you do with the styro then?

I keep just the figure's boxes, not the shipping boxes. I love the packaging but barely have room to display the figures, so boxes go into storage. Good to keep just in case I ever need to sell one or move or even if I were to start rotating the figures on display.

I pretty much keep everything when it comes to packaging. I have an attic full of collectibles boxes sealed in gial zip-lok bags. I often keep the shipper boxes, but usually only for SSC & HT stuff.

I keep all of it. You never know what's going to happen tomorrow and you may have to sell everything.

oh while some Coco fans are reading this does he have a Twitter or facebook account to follow what he is upto?

I'm honestly not too sure. I haven't heard of anything, but I'm sure he does. I'm just anxious for him to return to television. :rock

I keep all of it...I wouldn't buy something if the packaging was missing, so I always think of how difficult things may be to sell in the future if I didn't have the packages.

Don't have the space to keep the packaging for 1/6 scale. Only exception so far has been The Godfather box. Just couldn't do it

Ok...the people that throw out all boxes arent very bright imo. The boxes are part of the collectible. And if the day ever came where you needed to sell your collection for whatever reason...you would have just shot yourself in the foot. I would never buy a 2nd hand collectible missing the art boxes and protective packaging. Does no one here own a basment where they can keep their boxes? Thats where I keep mine. I keep art boxes and the shipping boxes....it just seems very wrong to throw them out. I would never even think about throwing out my CM pred box.......but....I know some people that have..and I just shake my head :monkey4

This stuff, even with its packaging is seldom worth what was paid for it the first time. Besides, the joy of owning something equals value, so if you get less than you paid for a loose toy you no longer want, what's the problem?

You say people who through out packages aren't very bright. I think people who store stuff they don't need can also be considered not bright...

I stand by my statement....

But let me pitch it to you this way...would you buy an EX statue and throw out the part that "makes" it EX because you dont display it with the piece?
The boxes are part of the investment....Im willing to bet if I ever had to sell my CM pred on ebay I would get $500-$800 more for it because I have them......VS......not having them.
How can you say you dont need the boxes?....of course you need them. Your simply storing money in the form of boxes elsewhere. Make no mistake their is a dollar value attached to having original boxes.
