I was mainly talking about the cape discussion. I just don't see why it's so hard for people to just give making a custom cape a shot. Then again, I'm one of those people who tries to do things themselves before going to someone else, so that's just my mindset. Before NECA made their Freddy vs. Jason figures? I sculpted a Jason my damn self! Granted, it wasn't that good, but I learned from it and started doing other things with what I learned.

That's mainly what I'm getting at. If more people would go try something as simple as making their own custom cape, they may discover they've got a talent for it and branch off into more complicated stuff.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the 1/6 tailors, because as I've said before, they do phenomenal work. Specifically Kato. I just don't like him on a personal level and would rather kill myself than give that guy a dime, so if one prospective customer of his goes out and finds that they've got a talent for making their own stuff and does that rather than paying him what he asks for doll clothes, it would make me tremendously happy.

I understand your point now that you laid it out like this, but in your initial post it came across as you just calling people "lazy", which you can imagine isn't going to win you points haha.

I do agree that the more people try they may discover a talent they never knew they had, but not everyone has the luxury of that much free time. Plus there's a cost of materials for all that crafting trial & error, which would probably exceed the $20 they could have spent to get a perfectly done one anyway.

I dunno I'm not uber picky over things like this but I'd have to see this figure in person to decide if I want a custom cape or not. I probably will get one though.

Yes, I have to say I was surprised at how affordable custom tailoring turned out to be!

When life gives you lemons...:lol

I was never bothered by my OC cape. I'm very lucky, I save a lot of money by having low standards.

From the pics this cape will be just as bad as every Bat cape before it. But it can be futzed to look decent - it's the gathering or kinking up at the shoulders owing to the thickness of the material that is the main issue. I'm not prepared to break the pegs on my OC Bats, the cape just doesn't bother me that much. This figure is a different story thanks to the removable cape. I'd probably see another $30 on top of MSRP for a cape that hangs as well as lforigno's as a reasonable spend.

Haha I don't accept children as payment. I do see where crow is coming from and he is right. He too has made capes as well as some pretty good paint jobs. I kind of just fell into cape making by luck. I actually was lucky enough to get the actual hero cape design that bale wore in both begins and tdk so I will make some capes with the actual hero template.

Yesterday i found a template for the begins cape, so i think im going to practice and try to make an accurate begins cape.

I applaud anyone that can make something on their own...I also applaud anyone who accepts children as payments.

Man, I can't wait for this figure. I'm still unsure about how I'm going to display it though, since I'm not really interested in getting a Ledger Joker.

Anyway, I haven't visited this thread in a few days, but the conversations seem to be more civil. Did the mods drop the ban-hammer on the keyboard warriors? :lol

Uh, why worry about a Ledger Joker with a Begins Bats?

Re: the civility, it ebbs and flows :lol

Yeah, perhaps you're right. ____ it, I'll take the plunge. I don't see how I'd regret it.
