Yea they definitley had some serious hiccups along the way for sure. Whether it be defects or likeness/accuracy issues. Overall I still feel like they continue to improve in certain catagories. I mean how bad can they F up their 4th(and hopefully last) attempt at HL Joker? I have faith they'll get it right. IDK time will tell.

I never got the facts on the fragile DX-01. Is it a matter of when it breaks not if? I screwed around with mine a good amount and no problems. Can you post or PM me a link where I can read up on that?

Wow, more news that passed me by. Finally got mine yesterday and didn't even pull him out of the box yet. Can you point me toward where to read about the issues?

The DX08 thread is littered with posts about different issues regarding quality control problems.

There's really no consistency but here's the ones I can remember (the rest is in the Nicholson thread):
wonky PERS
nose rubs
glue stains
ripped or separated threading on shirt
snags on shirt
messed up bow
tweaked collar on coat
loose feet joints
broken or easily breakable snap on coat
misaligned buttons on coat
broken antennae on radio

I know I'm missing a few but that's enough.

That all said, I only had the tweaked coat collar, which BBTS thankfully replaced for me.

Psssssttt WTF. Thanks for the info boys. Soooo when should I retract my statement on having faith in HT? ASAP?

@ DiFabio: Yea bro I have three of these. Gotta check this s___ out

Yeah he looks a bit too smooth and shiny to me. I think today you'd see better skin texture and paint.

I think the colors are a bit too dull on the current DX01. He looks "drab." Some of the custom mods I've seen are too bright. It's hard to find the right mix because in the movie he appears different under different lights as well and in promo images. Having said that, the vest and shirt look amazing in the teaser. I hope to god the head doesnt have rooted hair

The different looks you see on film are mainly due to different levels of weathering at various stages in the film

The actual suit is quite vibrant

I would say more stops and starts, with no real noticeable trend in improvement beyond DX-01's fragility. Sparrow is pretty good, Indiana Jones's likeness is horrible, Joker and Batman are good, Luke is bad. . .

The battle damaged looks is pretty accurate though... But I agree, the clean ones looks too good to be Mark Hamill:lol

Has anyone attempted rooted hair and PERS on the same figure? Wonder how HT would do that? Access the PERS from under through the neck? Or it its a panel, I guess the real hair wouls make it next to invisible to see. I dunno.

Im more for the sculpted hair, but if they can make it look good and not be a hassle to deal with then I wouldnt mind the rooted.

Rooted will always be a hassle to deal with... it's hair.

But I can deal with it. (Well) Rooted>sculpted.

I picked up a Marilyn Monroe Barbie figure for my Wife last week and I was amazed at how well they made the hair. It was rooted and stylized so it doesnt move. Maybe if they did something like that Id be fine with it.

Think we'll see specs before the new movie?

Id say yes, but who knows with HT. I figure that they will show him before the other Dark Knight Rises figures start pouring in around the release of the movie end of June.

Whats bugging me about this teaser is that they have already mentioned in an interview its finished. So show the fracking thing already!!:gah:

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I know everyone is going to say they're waiting for EB to drop and I know the past has shown this, but I just don't see the logic in that. Like I said before, what does it matter? It's not like if HT see's EB's Joker first and realizes theirs is better that they will recall all Joker figures and start over from scratch because EB's looks nicer. I think of this every time someone brings that up. Does anyone have a good idea why it benefits them to wait for EB's reveal?

Hopefully, we see it tonight or tomorrow night. It seems like a lot of HT specs are released on Sunday nights, so I hope they don't disappoint.

As far as EB goes, two totally different things. I get a different tone from each scale. 1/4 scale is showcase scale. High quality figures that are meant to showcase the character. However, my opinion of 1/6th is that the smaller scale allows for more elaborate displays. You'll likely never see a 1/4 scale "The Bat" or a 1/4 scale interrogation room, as it's a scale meant for the characters. That's why I'll be getting important characters like Joker and Batman in 1/4, but I'll also probably pick up their 1/6th counterparts as well.

Im actually really interested and hoping Sideshow does a Heath Ledger Joker Premium Format. I will get that. Not really interested in spending $400 + on a Figure from Enterbay. When it comes to 1/4 I prefer them be more statues. You are right in them being a showcase scale for the figures.

I dont have many Premium Formats, but the ones I do I really admire.
