It was a legit question and someone answered already with one example. That alone doesn't set a trend, but they get points for giving a serious answer whereas you can go to timeout for your sass.

What? What sass? Cool your jets, dude. I wasn't sure you were serious.

Two people actually answered with two examples. There was the Jack Sparrow/Angelica incident (which was really blatant with the whole 'chalice' thing) and there was the Terminator... and a third I believe was the Bruce Lee. There's definitely some bad blood between the two camps for whatever reason.

That's a double timeout for the extra sass. I don't think the terminator should count when it comes to copying expressions.

Enterbay goes moving eyes, HT copies. Enterbay goes 1/4, HT copies. Enterbay announces new Terminator figures, HT copies (announcement the same day after leaving the license alone for a year). Enterbay has great Lee sculptor, HT takes him away.

Except that HT didn't start it in the case of the Terminator. HT shows DX 10, EB teases BD 1/4 T2 T-800, HT teases BD Police T1 T-800, EB teases T-800 Endo, to which HT responds with their T-800 Endo. Both parties play an equal part in it, it's not just HT. :lecture

I may not be too familiar with the history, but I think it probably started with HT makes high end 1/6 figures, EB copies. In the end, I don't care, it's business. I don't see how it points to HT redoing their Joker head sculpt, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

You will get competition with anything, the good thing for us is that we have a choice and both companies will constantly be trying to outdo each other which means better quality items for all of us:ccheerlea

Ah, I just assumed EB went first with those.

While that may be true to some extent, a company doing high end 1/6 work isn't as blatant an attempt to copy someone IMO as is competing on a specific license, character, or new approach as what we've seen with these other instances. I personally don't really care. Like you guys are saying, competition should make companies do their best work, which we can only benefit from.

Yep, I have no problems with that. Now if they will compete for lowest prices...
Looks like that is one area that is off limits for competition. Yay for us.

There probably shouldn't be too much worry on the end result of this fig. Over the years there's been issues with rubber or PERS, so on and so forth. But for the most part, HT has been steadily improving. I'm pretty sure they're well aware of what their customers want and that this has to be a grand slam. Plus like others said it's probably gonna be their last shot at him...at least in 1/6 :lol

But for the most part, HT has been steadily improving
I would say more stops and starts, with no real noticeable trend in improvement beyond DX-01's fragility. Sparrow is pretty good, Indiana Jones's likeness is horrible, Joker and Batman are good, Luke is bad. . .

QC seems to be suffering now that HT is making much larger edition sizes then it used to. More chances for things to go wrong. Nicholson Joker seems to be a real victim of this.

Yea they definitley had some serious hiccups along the way for sure. Whether it be defects or likeness/accuracy issues. Overall I still feel like they continue to improve in certain catagories. I mean how bad can they F up their 4th(and hopefully last) attempt at HL Joker? I have faith they'll get it right. IDK time will tell.

I never got the facts on the fragile DX-01. Is it a matter of when it breaks not if? I screwed around with mine a good amount and no problems. Can you post or PM me a link where I can read up on that?

Wow, more news that passed me by. Finally got mine yesterday and didn't even pull him out of the box yet. Can you point me toward where to read about the issues?

Just open it first and see if you have problems. Not all of them are like that.

I got two MISB, same day. One was perfect, the other had a few issues. Just check it out before you read any threads.
