Can't we all just appreciate how far we've come from the first Joker :lol

That's true, but this was an issue of the sculptor (Yulli again, I believe) not having enough to work with, right? I think this was all she was able to see of Joker at the time that the sculpt was being made:

If so, it is pretty evident in that case that Yulli was not trying to stick clown makeup on a Heath sculpt, though it's hard to fault anyone who just doesn't have much source material to work with. Could have been a different sculptor though. BR Joker was released around the same time as V1, so I don't think there was an issue of technical difficulty causing the bad likeness on V1.

No offence taken, Its his opinion.

My opinion is that his opinion/statement is stupid!!!! thats all! :)
I stand corrected! :lol

It was stated a while back that Yulli did that method (Heath first) for this Joker though. Apparently.

Well that is what it looks like and that is perhaps the reason why I see Ledger in this 2.0 sculpt. The other Jokers looked like Heath Ledger's Joker but not Ledger. By that I mean they had the right make up etc but no likeness to the actor.

Yes it does, because that is what happens in real life, the actor has no make up on then gets make up applied to him.

The Joker with make up on looks strange so trying to create that image only is stupid.

i think you might have contradicted yourself there. if the joker with make up on looks strange (i.e., not like the actor without make-up), then wouldn't it be better if the sculptor tries to sculpt the character the actor portrayed rather than the actor himself? that way, they can capture exactly that "strangeness" brought on by being in character?

i'm not arguing either way, since i think either way of sculpting is valid. just trying to understand your explanation.

And some ppl love to complain about complainers.
Just admit that most people love mindless adoration and exaltation.

Better yet some people take this hobby to seriously it's funny seeing people complain on though.

Well, for me, with no disrespect to Heath, Im buying a collectible of TDK JOKER to display him as THE JOKER. Not Heath Ledger. I mean, I want him to look as he appeared on screen and I understand that it is Heath under the make up so having him look like Heath makes sense. But it doesnt need to SCREAM Ledger for me to buy it. Im buying it cause its Joker. Not because its Heath as Joker. Get it? :lol

Will I be buying this? 100% Maybe even 200% depending on other outfit and additional head sculpts.

But I was really hoping for just one area of improvement... The hair. I'm not even wishing it was rooted... Just a more accurate paint job where it isn't just one color!!

Sorry but J C Hong's repainted Bank Robber Joker disagrees

Sculpt is definitely an improvement over HT's previous offerings, but honestly, I was expecting more - let's see with the full reveal and the 2nd sculpt.

Anyway I think the expression is actually this:

And a slight variation is this:

It's a little more subtle than this:

And here is a good angle to compare the sculpt

I like what I see overall but I have 2 main issues
1. Hair is still wrong
2. If you're using an expression from the interrogation scene (which I'm convinced it is), then paint the damn thing in that scheme! Of course they could give us another head with that scheme so let's see

My explanation is that the Joker with make up on Looks strange and cartoony looking, this is why the DX head looks stupid IMO.

Thus, it is hard to see the actor underneath the make up easy. So basically what you are seeing is an illusion and if you try to create the strange looking character your seeing, you will not be able to capture the actor that makes the whole package come together.

You will be only be creating an image that you only see with make up but unable to capture the whole process that makes the character come together to look like the actor as well as the character.

My main concern is how dark they paint the hair, the face will look better from a straight on shot, full reveal shouldn't be to long.
