Just goes to show the sculpt isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be once it's had a good repaint. ultimately what lets the head down is the eyes. they are too deeply set and look unatural. Sculpted eyes are much more natural looking. This is probably what gives him the wierd mascara look :D

I've always found that most figures look much better in hand than in photos. Indy is definitely one that falls well within that category. I would never have bought him if I had of relied on photos alone; he really looks goofy in most.

:exactly: good thing I relied on my instincts :lol

Just don't see harrison Ford in the sculpt

Cover the eyes, it looks like him

Them cover just the mouth, it looks like him,

but as a whole it looks like the mouth is too big for the eyes or the eyes are too small for the mouth.

They should have gone back to the drawing board, or scrapped it let somebody else try.

The majority of family/friends who have seen my Indiana Jones at home have said “it kinda looks like Harrison Ford”. They are still very impressed with the attention to detail ( shoes, inside jacket pocket etc.) My thoughts.....have been denied a Indiana Jones action figure from NECA/McFarlane in the 16 years of collecting 7 inch scale, I am very happy that in the year I stepped into the 12inch world this piece is offered!!

This is me as well. :lecture:exactly:

My Dad saw the figure awhile back and thought it was weird that with the fedora he didnt see the Ford Likeness but without the hat he could. But My Mom can see the likeness with the fedora but not without. Its weird.

Well, I finally got my HT Indy and I have to say that it's pretty much how it looks in the bad pics. At least the one I got does. He looks marginally better in the day time. But once the room lights go on in the evening, it looks like how it does in the bad pictures--dark eyeliner, weird likeness, etc.

The jacket fits horribly. The body is much too buff for it, and it's hard to futz with the jacket because the sleeves are so tight on the huge arms. His shirt collar is too big, which also makes it hard to futz. What's worse is that the jacket collar is too small (or probably just right), so that incongruity between the small jacket collar sitting on top of the huge shirt collar makes it a PITA to fix. The bag strap, and particularly the gun holster feel very cheap. And I'm not loving the braided whip.

All that said, I'm not that disappointed in him because I pretty much could see all those deficiencies (except the quality of the bag strap and gun holster) through the photos here. So I knew just what to expect. The photos are pretty much accurate. The difference between real life and the pics is only slight.

Honesty the likeness doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Like I said, it might be because I had already reconciled that from seeing all the photos. What bothers me most is the way the clothes fit. I'm having a hell of a time trying to get him to look good. Futzing with the Sideshow figure was not nearly as difficult.

And unfortunately the cylinder from the revolver was missing. I'll try and contact Hot Toys and see if they can send me a replacement.

Yeah, it's such a shame they messed up this release so badly. I completely agree with you Lou. Thats why I find it so annoying when some HT fantards kept posting that it looks so much better inhand. It doesn't, at all. I still like it though in it's own way, but it really is a missed opportunity.
