Yeah the mk2/3 would, but what about the mk4? it might look good in that paint scheme, the only problem would be the arc reactor, but personlly i wouldnt mind it being there.

The design is closer but the chest plating would throw it off as well the the head structure and the shoulder placement.

It the Extremis styled suit that Hasbro is showing is accurate as the Mark 5 and not inaccurate done off of conceptuals that'd be the perfect one to use.

I think we will get two versions of Iron Man/Tony, possibly two of Whiplash, War Machine (with Cheadle headsculpt, no additional clothing for a Rhodes figure) and Black Widow (just her in costume no Natasha outfit)

We'll get unmasked sculpts especially since there are scenes where he is unhelmeted. There will be two Whiplash characters maybe more depending on how he did the progression, Favreau said that Whiplash's design progression matches Tony's in the first one. War Machine will have a Cheadle sculpt, maybe even a Soldier suit like the last Man suit for it.

Yes, I'm very curious myself. I just asked Jon Favreau on the phone and he didn't know himself so we're all curious here. Anyone?

Why would he know its a comic book thing....:lol

Norman buys out and takes control of StarkTech, making it now Oscorp. This gives him hundreds of classified documents and tech specs, along with Tony's armada of Iron Man suits. Osborn is able to use the Ghost to break into Tony Stark's armor vault and create his own suit, becoming the Iron Patriot. Its powered most likely the same way War Machine powers his suit to which most recently, Rhodes manages to activate a cluster of emergency generators in his armor that incorporated obsolete Stanetech parts in its design.

I'll add one more to that, I bet we get a battle damaged mark 3. the iron man line can expand as far as the predator line. who knows how many iron man figures hot toys will end up making, they've already done 4 right? hot toys is going to milk this line just like they have been with the predator line, hell, even the dark knight. the only thing is, I think iron man is more valid a line to milk then something like the dark knight.

aint that the truth

The color scheme for the face is wrong it should be red and white to match the body but it doesn't look as bad as I thought would...

Yeah I had noticed that but it looks awesome with the overall color scheme doesn't it?

It doesn't look bad but using the paint to "cut" the chest armor into two colors like the books its a bit jarring. I'm surprised it translates so well.

Both are just as likely because Whiplash is the major villain and HT will want to make sure to get it to fans especially with the inability of doing Iron Monger for the first one.

Did HT ever give any particular reason why Iron Monger couldn't be made?

HT said Iron Monger isn't going to happen because of his size, the cost of research and development and the trouble with keeping the cost to the customer low enough to sell. They've been quoted at least three times in various interviews.

Stan Winston Studios built the massive practical suit, which included a clamshell center hatch. “The Iron Monger suit is 10 feet tall and weighs approximately 800 pounds,” says Shane Mahan. “We developed and built it during the course of filming and used it to help bridge the character into the digital world of ILM and John Nelson. A gimbal was also built, which allowed us to push it and mimic the actions of the big torso walking.”

10' is 120" so in 1:6 it'd be 20" tall. As tall as The Hulk. The difference is where Norton's Hulk is slim but tall, Iron Monger is amazingly wide. The head alone is 14 inches tall, 11.5 inches wide, and 13 inches deep. Looking at proportions in 1:6 it'd be 2.3" tall, 1.92" wide and 2.17" deep. That's a big ^^^^ing head. We are talking about twice the size of Iron Man's head in height and twice in width and almost three times in depth. His body was three times wider than Iron Man and three times deeper, same with the arms. The trouble is that Iron Monger is solid and not built really for someone to operate. According to SWS folks and reports from Iron Man sets it took five people just to operate the top portion. Look at the thigh joints, they are at a strange angle where a human leg couldn't possibly fit. Which means it wouldn't fit over an exoskeleton or fit a truetype it'd just be mostly a solid piece. Its a serious undertaking cost wise.

Just want to get some thoughts... what are the chances they will make a Black Widow figure? I thought earlier 100% but i'm not so sure now.

I really want a Scarlett figure but can't see myself paying that much $$ for one from the Spirit (the way it is) Should I wait it out for Black Widow? Is she a lock?

She is a lock. One of the biggest complaints from the IM 1 line was that there were no villains and that is where the Iron Monger reasons started to hit. They'll make both a Scarlett figure and a Mickey Whiplash without a doubt. The only four figures that are locks are War Machine, Iron Man (Mark IV), Black Widow and Whiplash.
