Not the one you photo shopped, although it looks good too, but I meant the one you last posted of Medi Jack next to HT Jack. The one you pulled off of the other site.
For some reason he looks much better in that photo.

Ya, in that picture he looks nice, actually all of them from that link look good, but for the hat not sitting well on his head, can always have him as DMC hat less Jack. As for the Medi, based on many others' pictures and even the one in the comparrison, and my second Jack I got for my repaint, it seems like the first one I got was a fluke with a fairly good paint app on it, fine by me, but seeing other Jack's I understand where some paint gripes come in.

I find it shocking that some people here insist the Medicom has a better likeness to Depp. They must own the Medicom.

At least in this picture comparison, I like the HT likeness very much. I have more of a gripe with the brown pants and that terrible light tan "suede" belt (but that's really petty).

Actually, based on promo shots from AWE, the HT pants are perfect. As for the Depp likeness, I believe the arguments are being based more on sculpt than the overall, at least that's where my arguments come from. Paint wise, hands down the HT is the better figure, but as far as head sculpt, without getting it in hand yet to really judge, Medicom has that better Depp likeness in sculpt by pictures

You know...like the head sculpt or not...Hot Toys really knocked one out of the park AGAIN with this figure.

Just look at in comparison to the Medicom figure....now I am a big Medicom fan too but when you compare their figure to the HT Sparrow...it looks more like the $15 Zizzle 12'' figures.

I mean look at his belts,the buckles,the rest of the costume...I'm not a stickler for 100% accuracy either so if something isn't the complete shade of brown or black it should be...it can pass for me.

Way to go Hot Toys,I am really excited for this figure and I hope you make us...

Granted, Medi used plastic belts which I'm not a fan of, BUT, their figure is based on Curse of the Black Pearl, where HT is based on the DMC/AWE wardrobe. The only things you can compare are boots, coat, shirts, pants, hat and head sculpt, belts and accessories are different between those films. They're both great figures though. Davy Jones is needed, and a Hector Barbossa would be nice too. Will might be cool, and being a Knightley lover, I'd enjoy a well outfitted Elizabeth.

And Maulfan -- I can't believe you still like Medicom's sculpt better. I just don't see it. Of course, I don't have it in hand so I really shouldn't judge as I know pictures can fool the eye. But still...

Actually, one other change: Jack had gray pants in Curse (not blue), which became brown in DMC and AWE.

Anyway, where the heck can I get a good price on HT Sparrow? And what is a good price? I've been holding out to see if they're gonna make Jones, but this recently posted comparison picture has sent me over the edge. I really want the HT Sparrow now no matter what else they produce.

I kind of like the Medi sculpt better too. I guess you have to see it in person. The HT outfit is way better than the medicom one so they win there- there paint apps are also light years better.

I can't believe I may pass on this one. I want it but something is holding me back. If I find it for cheap then I will go for it.

Wor-Gar, I ordered through Toys2, it's probably pricier than what Sideshow may price it at if they get it down the road, but I think it's pretty high anywhere you look.

With a little effort, the wardrobe of the Medi can look good, and in the right lighting, you see Johnny is in the sculpt. Like I said earlier tho, having gotten 2 Medi's, a second for my repaint, and seeing numerous photos on the net including the comparrison image above, some Medi Jacks had nasty paint around the eyes, and while still not as good as HT, the Medi Jack I left as is looks very nice compared to the others. Can't go wrong with lots of Jack.

I checked Toys2 -- $139. I was hoping for less. Maybe I'll try and hold out a bit longer. But I must get this figure. Hopefully it will go down in price. But if they announce Jones, then the price will jump!!!

Well, I love Jack Sparrow so I bit on Toys2's price because I didn't want to gamble missing out on him. Depending on what happens when I get it in person, I'll either keep it as is, or swap out all the cool clothing onto the Medicom figure. Despite the height difference, overall, looks like a clothes swap would be successful.

Hey did anyone get one of the Frontline Hero Heads from Lonnie and see how it looks on a Medicom? How does the sculpt compare?

I'm not sure if the Frontline Jack would work on Medicom, personally I have a hard time seeing Depp in that one at all, but lack of paint on it could play a factor in it, I would think it would look like Depp since the rest of their sculpts look really nice.
