Actually...I think I might not even get this after all. Don't get me wrong because it looks fantastic but I think I will save my pennies for the CM. That one will be enough for me.

It's irrelevant anyway, since it's like comparing apples and oranges. I will most certainly be going with the CM.

The outfit is definitely improved. The head looks nicely made, as for Depp resemblance, I'll reserve til I get mine in hand, but not looking promising. However, the merge of HT outfit with my custom painted Medi Jack should look very nice when I'm done

While neither the medicom or hot toys nailed the Depp likeness, I can see more of Depp in the Hot Toys scupt than I did in the Medicom one. I think a custom paint job will do wonders on this figure.

I can't put my finger on it either. I don't know if it's all in the eyes or the lack of the Jack Sparrow smirk.

With Hot Toys you get the hat and coat in addition to a slightly off head sculpt.

Yeah you get the hat, but it doesn't look like it fits. From the pics that were posted on the 1/6th Warrior Forum, the pic on the box of Depp shows what it should look like. The pics of the figure have his head down to disguise that it sits way too high to look good. Having it in shadow is another use of photographic disguise. In other words it looks out of whack.

You can't futz with it because the hat is plastic and the head and hair are plastic. I find that to be a real shame.

Fao looks grande. Whether he appeared for a short time makes no difference to the fact that he looks like a quality figure with an aire of excellence and stature. Notice the Mona Lisa eye movement in them pics. I thought he had the Enterbay eyeballs there for a minute.

You know, one thing throwing off the likeness, which is the biggest factor that hurt Medicom, is the eyes. It's amusing to me that a low end toy maker like NECA can nail his eyes, but high end makers like Medi and HT can't get it. Jack's eyes should look more like this:

that's much better on the eyes.... there's a tendency with some manufacturers and custom painters to give the eyes very weird elliptical pupils/irises which go too far up into the upper eyelid

they should be round. absolutely circular.

and you got the colour and positioning just about right there I'd say. It's just a shame they haven't given him the ****y smirk he has for about three quarters of all the time he's on screen. It's always how i think of him.

I just wish I could afford Hot Toys figures.... I haven't bought a single one yet... and there are so MANY I want. They're working their way through my iconic cinema characters from throughout my lifetime. And I hate them for it (or wish I had more money)

I dunno, he looks pretty damn good to me... probably better overall than the Medicom version. I figure I'll try to get this one, and then decide after that which one to keep.

Although one thing that bothers me about this one is it looks like Hot Toys went with bendy hands... they just never look right with human characters

And kinda funny, but Sao Feng has sculpted hands, but they don't look painted so they look off too?

Well thanks to this picture I know that the coat won't be too large for Medi Jack, but the brown tone is strange. Overally, I dig the HT Jack, but it's a bit of a let down that the hat won't sit well on him, that or the people taking these pictures aren't bothering to put it on properly.
