I suspect the price will go way down on those "Billie Jean" figures as time goes on. His death is still fresh in people's minds, but interest in Jackson stuff will fade.

But thriller is best music video ever! Well you know, it was influential and stuffs. So maybe people will be willing to buy it at a high price after it's no longer in production.

I see that too. Good income for the Jackson estate, though.

Sadly, I wanted to like the Billie Jean version but couldn't and was hoping for a Thriller version. Now, I'm getting the Thriller version and although I'm content with it it still doesn't "awe" me as I hoped it would.

I think you are right about this. Actually, I would not be surprised if the Thriller figure surpasses the Billie Jean figure in terms of value over time, because Thriller was so influential, and is Michael as most people would like to remember him. Billie Jean tour version was from the 1990s, when he had started doing strange things in his personal life, whitening his skin, etc. Like JacktheRipper, I was also hoping for a Thriller from the beginning (I predicted this exact figure w/zombie parts earlier this year, actually ), and suspect many other Jackson fans were, too. Thriller-era MJ is how I loved him as a kid, and how I want to remember him.

Well,
personally as much as I love the Thriller version, I think the Billie Jean tour version is awesome... specially because Michael Jackson was @ the top of his game in the early 90's, dancing-wise!! And his performances of Billie Jean in the 90's are jaw-dropping compared even to the iconic Motown 25 one...

Surely, there are a lot of fans of MJ from that period. I have one buddy who is only a fan of his post-Smooth Criminal period. But Thriller is the #1 selling album ever, and many of us collectors are of the age where we saw the video as little kids, and are nostalgic. Based on that, I really think this Thriller figure will be extremely popular. Joe's comments in his pre-order thread attest to this.

Q3, ya never know. It would actually be perfect timing for HT, considering the nature of the figure.

And toys2 has it for release in Nov. So it could for sure release in HK before or around Halloween pending any delays.

You're right; but how many figures have been or are late atm? Joker, Connor, Tumbler, T-600, not to mention MK1 IM! I suppose if HT have had this in the works for a while, they could have it out by October.......but I'm skeptical!

You know... it's funny because a lot of people, specially here in the U.S. bash MJ's work after BAD...
Personally, Dangerous IMO, is the prefect MJ album... it has all the punch and power of MJ style, while still having some of his old school elements... I think it's a better album creative-wise than Thriller or Bad...
Also, a lot of the songs of the HIStory, Blood on the Dance floor eras, are very underrated by the general public... maybe because they are more raw and less cheesy... very strong beats and a more aggressive singing by MJ, but I think they are a reflection of the evolution and shows MJ range.
Invincible is a very misunderstood album... I like it, a lot! The production values on it are simply amazing... but it was too much of a stretch for MJ in people's mind...
People like safe/corny stuff... they like MJ's "innocent" era more... because it reminds them of their own "innocent" years...
A lot of people, specially in Europe, like MJ stuff from the latter years, because it was riskier and more "avant-garde" if you will...

I know he likes the Dangerous album, but I can't speak about the other one. He has always had strange taste (to me) in music, though. His favorite singer of all time is Tina Turner. Personally, I'm a fan of her 80s stuff, but wouldn't go to her concert or anything.
