Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Keep in mind that the 1st batch TDK on the right has already been modded. I cannot tell if the 2nd batch has been changed though. Would really help if we could get pics of the 2nd batch next to an unmodded 1st batch.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I don't find the legs to be an issue on mine.

In that photo tho, the one on the left almost looks smaller all around, like 10-15% smaller.

1st batch is the "fat" version and the 2nd batch is the "short" version :lol
Wonder what the 3rd batch will be......:lol

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

INCREDIBLE pics magnuz, love him on top of the car, wow!
btw i'll be just as pissed as you guys if i end up getting a batch one and they release a batch two fixed up. still waiting on mine, shouldve been shipped this week. The one on the left's sculpt looks different somehow.....and bad imho, maybe just my eyes

Here is what the owner has to say about the differences between the batches.

1.Skinnier arms and legs
2.Darker color for the suit

The height is the same. The head is tilted for the 2nd batch batman that's why he looks shorter.

I think I can see the skinnier legs and arms The suit on the left also does look darker. Either that or I'm going crazy thinking about this....

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Both look phenomenal, I don't care which one I get as long as BBTS gets theirs soon. I'm dyin' here, waiting on this frickin' thing here...

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

That's a really bad photo, too many variables affecting the appearance of the figure. Can't really deduce anything meaningful until HT says something. However, if I were to discern between the two figures in that pic, yeah, there is a difference.

I haven't read all of the previous thread pages since yesterday, what changes exactly are people claiming HT has short-changed them on?

Time to blast Hot Toys with e-mails again.

well thats the thing, we dont really know yet. there was a bit of a miscommunication a couple pages earlier, where people thought they were talking about the big changes that they recently made, before releasing the figure (new sculpt, suit tweaks etc etc) but that is not the case,we knew they had already been done.
apparently word has it that the 2nd batch being shipped has a few of the changes noted in the above picture, a slimmer body/stomach/arm/leg profile, and a darker suit
would they really change these things at the drop of a hat like that though? arent these supposed to be mass released, meaning they already would have made thousands?

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I know the one on the right has been modded, but if this is the case that they made him slimmer, I almost prefer the first version then. I want Batman to be bigger than a normal person. Not to be a Medi-hater, but I think the version on the left looks a little like a Medicom figure versus HT. A little "boyish" if that makes sense. I'll wait to pass judgment until I have him in hand, but I prefer the version on the right.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I didn't check this forum for about 12 hours and then there's news of changes to the 2nd shipment?! What the....

What I want to know is, how did Magnuz manage to stuff the whole clip in? Doesn't the cape get in the way? Mine kind of bunches up making it quite difficult to push all the way into the hole.

Can anyone elaborate?

Anyway, someone was asking about how to insert the clips in so I'm quoting myself. Hope it helps.

Thanks MaulFan :D

Good morning, its Sunday morning here.

Decided to do a quick little illustration (with MS PAINT - yes, I have no fancy schmancy Illustrating tools/software :p) to help those haven't gotten their figures yet and want to do something about the cape.

It's not 100% accurate of course, but I hope to get my point across.

Do take note that the bit that goes into the back part of the groove where you insert the clip in is a small. I didn't really notice it at first when I was trying to get the damned clip to stay down.

As stated in my post few pages back and what MaulFan did, you might need to adjust the chest armor a little in order to get the clip to stay in place. That small portion at the back is like a hook to get the clip to stay flat.

Good luck and hope that simple illustration helps paint a better picture ;)

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Hot Toys website seems incredibly slow at the moment. Are all you lot on it or something?

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Probably going to be taken the wrong way, but whatever. A big problem with the figure is that many, many people either don't know how or don't take the time to pose the figure in a way that's flattering to the sculpt. If your Batman is just standing there like you just took him out of the box, it's going to look awkward. If you take your time with it and adjust everything before putting it into a pose that flatters the sculpt, it's going to look great. You wouldn't just throw some clothes on without making sure they were on correctly, would you? Same principle.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

crOw, I did not take it the wrong way and your absolutely right. Straight out the box or a standard pose will not do this figure justice!!! You have to explore a bit and you'll definately see a difference. I still see no need to update this this figure again, or even modify, it is perfect as is.

Maybe they adding some updates that could shed some light on this issue??

The head is the only change I can notice. Looks wider on the one on the left, but could be the angle.

HT are shooting themselves in the foot if they have done this and, like darren said, they could have delayed all.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Just got mine from Toys2. I am at work, so photos and messing with it will have to wait...

It's the angle, which attributes to many of the differences between the two in the photo.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

If HT pulls that stunt on us, its pure shame. If they are updating it, they should provide us that secured the first wave a way to be equaly updated, Probably we even payed more to secure it first.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Honestly, until I see definitive proof, I'm calling BS. I think people are finding things in HT's official release about the tweaks before they shipped the figure and reading too much into them. The only thing wrong with the figure, and I wouldn't even say it's wrong, is the neck. He should be able to look down farther without having to modify it.

The rest of the complaints, again, can be settled by simply adjusting and posing the figure. I have no idea why people are saying his legs need to be slimmer...it would throw off the proportions of the figure quite a bit. Again, pictures make this guy look bulkier than he is. In hand, he's damn near perfect.

I'm going to point again to this picture of mine. Only the neck mod has been done.
