Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I like the shorty cape. By comparison the BB cape looks awkward.
Here is my contribution. I received him on Wednesday from Toys2, but was just able to mess with him today. Decided to put the new Bruce sculpt on the BB suit...I like the resulting display alot.

Wow, they did change things up some! Surprised to see HT do this!

Hope Joe gets this second variant!

Since he has yet to recive them I would say the chances are great of him getting the modified version.

i did the exact same thing today, and turned the batman cowl around, and made it appear as if bale is holding it, looks great

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

The beer belly is a packaging problem. The hip joint of the figure gets posed in a way for the packaging that sticks the front outward and creates the beer gut, gently pose the midsection around and you'll find you can slide the pieces so that the stomach flattens, I did it and he looks great now.

yep exactly, its TOTALLY a non issue, and you can easily make it dissappear by just leaning him forward and popping it in, no reason whatsoever to go dremeling or grinding anything, not even the neck imho, i havnt touched mine and it looks perfect. I'm liking this more and more as i play around with it everyday, its such a great figure, i'm glad i got a batch one and don't really have any complaints anymore, the short cape has also really grown on me after comparing to how overly flowing the original suit's one is. Also the 2nd Batch seem to be way too skinny, like a boy in a suit.

Have to disagree a little. While the figure is nice when stock, the mod can make it better. Not saying the mod is totally necessary, but is a good option. I like my TDK when I took it out of the box, but love it more after the mod. Just can't be too trigger happy and shave off too much, either making the waist too skinny, or thinned the plastic too much it cracks. With the right shaving on some areas, you can get a pretty nice straight torso shape, so Batman look more 'fit', but still has his massive look. While reworking the shoulder/chest armor can bring the shoulders tighter, give him a nicer upper body silhouette.

In regards to the 1st & 2nd batch differences. Its pretty obvious the body is the same, and the claims the couple people made are really non-significant. Some of those are apologizing already at the Toy-World board for their mis-assumption and stirring up the heat.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

i saw the pics at toy-world before reading about it here and saw the revisions to the second wave of figures clear as day.

i don't see how anyone can not notice them.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

My tiny contribution to the photo thread. Not very good camera, so picture a bit blurry. Tightening up the shoulders, as well as giving the torso a tighter, straighter shape.

@mpchi, looks great man. Was it hard, making all those changes to the figure? I wonder if there's a decent tutorial out there. Though, I can also hope that the Batman I'm buying is in fact the revised version.

There was an older "TDK Modification" threads that has links and good info on the tutorial. I followed that tutorial mostly, then improvised a bit on what results I want. You should find that thread doing a search. The mod is not that hard.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Sooooo, can someone please repost a link to the toy world thread where the modded second batch is clear and apparent?

So far I have only seen a comparison pic with a modded first batch one and the angles are too different to properly check, and a pic of the suits that look to be off of the body. Which is, again, unreliable as the rubber could just be sitting differently.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Found the thread, thanks bro...

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Ok here we go....Ax2 a member on the toy-world boards has this to say:

(1) No difference on the body
(2) The chest piece for wave 2 is smaller and fits closer to the body
(3) Color of the suit is darker
(4) Shoulder armor is a better fit (closer fit to the arms)
(5) The patterns on the armor has better definition (he says the legs look skinnier for the wave 2 because the leg patterns are more obvious. This makes the legs look skinnier).

Overall he says you need to look pretty hard to spot the differences. No pictures because you need to have these in hand to tell the difference.

Not sure how I feel about this. Glad to hear that the body is about the same....but the smaller chest armor and shoulder armor still pisses me off a little. Why can't they just keep it the same. Hot Toys is just looking for trouble no matter how they spin it. Keep all the waves the same and there would be less trouble. Make either wave different than the other and there is bound to be people complaining.

okay, so this guy has 2 figures, a 1st wave and a 2nd wave.
But since when did the 2nd wave come out? because it is just november and I thought there is still a looong way to go for the 2nd wave? but it already seem to have started shipping that 2nd wave?

and there is nothing official from hot toys about 2 versions I presume?

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

All those differences sound just like the official changes from the proto that HT talked about before they released the figure. I'm skeptical.
