Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Ack, flash from a digicam seriously hurts the quality of these figs, especially TDK bats.

And i agree, great job on joker. What body is the Bruce head on?

Shows the quality when the figures still look good under a flash.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

if I'm not mistaken Bruce is on a regular HT true type, with a toy soldier suit.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Ven is right, HT asian body (perfect skintone match for the TDK bruce) and a TS suit. Pretty good deal i got for both from goodstuff to go back when i got the begins suit bats.

And i actually think the flash brings out alot of cool details on the TDK bats, but mainly i used flash because i didnt have time to do my usual photo setup.

As for TDK mods, i did the neck mod so he can look down more and i gave him the begins cape.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

if you him the cape from original costume, then does your original costume use for a cape?

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

My original costume uses a modified ht v1 cape, with the inner layer removed to thin it out and make it more flexible:

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Wow, looks much better! BTW, I don't see the batarang holder on his belt. Is that DK costume's belt?

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

If you look closely the batarang holder is on the back of his belt there, i moved things around on the begins belt, and used parts from the V1 belt to give him two symmetrical pouches on the front, then put the batarangs on the back behind some of the capsules.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

NICE!! how did you do that? Won't removing the batarang holder leave a mark on the belt?

Can you post some pics? I'd love to see it. I actually bought myself a DK's belt on ebay just to get rid of that batarang holding belt.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

That would have to be the best repaint of V1 joker ive seen, i like! looks very good, nice and simple

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Heres closeups of the belt:

I just ended up using a pouch from the old belt, and put that in the spot where the batarangs were, covering up the spots of the pegs, then i just took a capsule off the back adn snugged it next to another and stuck the batarangs on the back there just so he still has them (even though he never really does in the movie).

But getting sidetracked on my begins batman and this is the TDK thread, so couple more pics of TDK bats, this guy is just too good for posing, its the one thing he has tops over the begins bats, he poses so well:

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Im pretty amazed at how u got him to crouch down so naturally. I cant really do that on my fig, as Im a little afraid of the rubber over stretching.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Thanks for the belt photos! I'll try that on mine later....

GOD! It really does pose well! Man! I wish I bought it! See, I don't really like the design of the new costume. But looking at you photos, I might try and get my hands on one simply for its posability...

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Yeah i have trouble crouching mine aswell, it just doesnt feel like it can go any farther

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Same here.....I don't think I'm even going to have him displayed on the Batpod :monkey5

Rubber figures scares the crap out of me.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

The HT body just lends itself to dynamic poses, and honestly i've not found the suit fragile at all. The rubber is very flexible and doesnt seem thin enough to rip or anything and being all one piece makes it much easier to move around without fear of seperation or ripping from something. Mainly its just posing it with purpose, im not stretching him willy nilly, just slowly pushing the parts into the poses i want.

For the most part the only thing on the figure i try to avoid stressing is the shoulder pads, because of their multiple attachments, and i dont want to risk breaking the elastic bands, so i dont do alot of arm posing, the pads limit alot of high arm poses anyway, but for crouching/fighting poses, he's tops.

The big bonus really is much the same with the real suit, the neck, just having the ability to do so much with his head allows for alot of posing opprotunities.

That's one reason I like TDK version better than the original one....moving his head all over the place is so much fun :D

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

With that articulation, I would guess the best combination would be the Takara Batman Begins and the Hot Toys Dark Knight. That's certainly what I would have come December :joy:D
