It’s funny how these trolls get upset because I post a thread that does not conform to what they think should be posted here but at the same time they didn’t say a thing to Optibotimus, OMG or jingoBell when they posted separate reviews of the die cast War Machine Mark 2

I want to make it clear that I APPRECIATED separate thread but according to lipslack these threads should have been part of the original WM thread.

They're trolling me because they thin I insulted their Detolfs. Instead of acting adult about the situation and countering my opinion they just decided to trash all my threads.

I stand by my opinion that if you have a Detolf with more then 4-8 figures per shelf because you can't "afford" a different display environment you may want to rethink your priorities.

Because your day dream is as valuable as a reviewer reviewing a highly anticipated and controversial piece, giving a consumer the info they need to drop $300 +....

right...

As I said before, I dont care about the content of your post, only that you started an entire new thread for it when similar things havebeen discussed inan already existing thread

:slap

This thread has gone from obliviously insulting to downright embarrassing. I hope someone puts it out of its misery.

You'll believe what you believe, but I'm pretty sure there is a perception that you've shown a lack of humility in many of your posts to date and many people feel affronted by it.

I had to veiw this post and I’m glad I did.

In the first sentence you make a value judgment on which thread is more important.

Then in the second sentence you state that you don’t care about my post content as long as it is posted in an existing thread.

So basically to you, if you think the thread is valuable you will over look that it wasn’t posted to an existing thread. By you own definition the 3 review threads for WM Mark 2 should have been in the War Machine Mar 2 Thread.

And because my “day dreams” have no value, they should be posted to an existing thread.

So where exactly is the old thread about IM figures listed on eBay for $9999 or the old thread where members expressed relief over not getting into this hobby 5 years ago but were recently relieved to discover that the wait was worth it?

Post the link and I’ll ask to have my threads merged with them.

Nice selective quoting on my post.

I had plenty of humility until a children decided to troll me.

Honestly I watch reviews on you tube, theres been a couple of times ive watched them through here and have commented. They sit for a week or so and a mod will move them over to the dedicated review section not their threads. and yes they add more to the community and discussion then most of the threads you've started. Not that your ideas or interests are bad, im not saying that. but they would be better received in the appropriate place.

In the famous words of hokietwo I guess we all can't afford "Kirkland's wrought iron wall scone candle holders to place random junk on." :lecture

I selectively quoted for economy, not to strategically or nefariously misrepresent your views. My observation pertains to your engagement with this board in general. You can blame others for the state of your threads, but there is one common denominator and that's you. You can claim to have demonstrated plenty of humility from the outset, but any objective reading of your post and thread history doesn't support that view.

I'd like to read one Boba Debt thread that doesn't have him insulting (intentionally or not) people and how they collect and/or display their collectibles. Everyone's circumstances and tastes are different. Plenty of collectors use Detolfs (I'm one of them) because they are cheap, look nice, and don't take up much room. Some collectors disagree and use Bestas, or bookshelves, or cardboard boxes, or custom displays. Some people rent an apartment or house and don't have the freedom to renovate that a homeowner enjoys.

I have seen Boba's examples of how he displays his collectibles, and I think some parts look great because the displays themselves are amazing--they are built to accentuate the pieces and look like they are part of the house. The display with his wife's "Pretties" (I'm sorry, but I can't get myself to misspell it like you do) is done in a style that fits the style of the piecesand the room. However, his grid displays remind me of booths at a swap meet--in my opinion they don't fit the collectibles and don't go with the house. In his older pics I can't distinguish individual pieces in his collection because it's just a hodgepodge jumble of stuff on a wall. However, even though neither setup is something I would have in my house, I wouldn't start a thread bashing people who use grid displays. Why? Because I'm not narcissistic enough to think that my way is better than anyone else's. I'm not going to insult what someone collects or how they display it because they may be doing the best they can with their own personal situation.

I'm new here--like Boba--but not new to collecting. What I collect and how I display my collection has changed throughout my life depending on what I was into at the time, where I lived, what money was available, etc. I certainly didn't need anyone bashing my method at the time. I'm in the process of changing my displays again and it won't be the last time. Boba gets onto this forum as a new member and bashes how people display their collections, calls people juvenile, reduces the status of majority of members here to "fodder", and generalizes the entire community here based on its lowest common denominator. Of course there's going to be backlash against him--and rightfully so. Does he have anything positive to contribute to the forum? Probably--but it gets swallowed by the attitude he brings to his posts, his responses to people in his threads, and his apparent refusal to learn how this particular forum site works.

All right, rant over. Preparing myself to be put on Boba's ignore list. I wouldn't be the first--and I dare say I won't be the last.

I stand behind my choice to use grid wall, it is what I and my wife likes. Most of the people that have visited my house like it too. Even people that publically posted that they didn't like it, once they can to my house for a prop party, the presence change their perspective.

You don't have to like it and as long as your opinion isn't a personal attack (much like your comment was) I won't dislike you.

If you have a Dertolf with tons of figures in it just say, "I like it that way."

But most people have justified it with open ended comments like

"it's an affordable option" Translation - I would buy something else if I had more money

or "it's all I have room for" Translation - I would buy something else if I had more room

or "I don't have the skill to build something like what you have" Translation - I would build something else if I had more skill

I have made it clear that due to my wife's medical condition we had to change the lay out of our house and that I miss my old room. But I'm try to put the same effort into my new areas.

Did I have to sell my Studio Scale Models and most of my hand built metal replica Blasters and sabers because I lacked area????

No, I could have crammed them into the corners with everything else and metaphorically created my own 4 shelf Detolf with 26 figures.

BUT I choose to only keep the most precious items and display them in the best way that I liked.

Someday, MANY of you are going to wonder why you have 6 Captain Americas, 5 Jokers and 7 Thors. You might keep them, or you might trim your collection down, that's up to you

BUT if you post a thread asking what people think be prepared for some to not like it.

I just checked my post history

Of the 14 threads I posted I can only find 2 threads that devolved into flames and one that seems to have disappeared

The rest seem to be fine

So please explain how most of my threads are insulting or how most get locked??

Can I borrow the huge one between your ears

I had to take you of ignore because seeing that you commented is more irritating then reading your comments

Instead of spending time on this thread why don't you check out my latest posts to the HOA and Armor Testing Threads?

Not exactly an equitable comparison.
Optimus was invited to do that by Darklord Dave and even then, with him being newer he received alot of **** for starting his own threads even though he was instructed to when he started out. He has just been accepted and he took the crap being dished out, held his ground, and replied fairly gracefully.

I've seen your handiwork, I have no doubt you could build something nicer than a detolf if you wanted and its obvious you want to be part of this community, and you can take this with a grain of salt, but I think you should not take every criticism so seriously and maybe even try to see what these guys are saying. Not saying you'll agree with one or any of them, but if you try to understand where they're coming from, you may surprise yourself.
