1) If Parker was stuck to the symbiote, how is he able to just stick it in the suitcase and pull it out as he likes. But, come time he needs to let go of it, the only way was at church tower?

The only answer I came up with was that the suit wasn't as attached to him the first time around (he hadn't slipped into 'bad boy' yet). Once he finally went over the edge (with slight new hairstyle and eyeliner no less:rolleyes:) and put the suit on he finally became one with it. That's the only answer I could think of.

2) I don't understand how the Sandman was beaten at the final battle scene. I mean he just crumbled, but it didn't make sense what would cause him to do that.

Yeah, I'm not sure either. It was shown that if you melted the sand and broke it off there was not regeneration. I guess it could be guessed that the two missles caused enough heat to do somekind of melt damage. Maybe.

And my thoughts on the "Spiderman 3"...I didn't like it. I liked the first two (the second being my favorite) but this newest installment was riddled with bad acting, writing, and so many other problems.

Re: Venom Rushed was Arad's fault

Spidey 3's Raimi Talks Venom

Spider-Man 3 writer/director Sam Raimi told SCI FI Wire that he thought about introducing the new villain Venom in this sequel and continuing the story in a possible fourth film, but ultimately decided the entire story should be told in one movie. "I thought it would be unfair to [the fans]," he said of breaking the storyline up. The consequence of that decision is that fans may have to wait a bit to see the full-fledged supervillain in all his glory in Spider-Man 3.

The Venom storyline is one of only three main stories in the third installment of the webslinger franchise. In it, Peter Parker becomes affected by an alien symbiote, which turns his suit black, before it is rejected and migrates to Peter's romantic and professional rival, Eddie Brock (Topher Grace), who then transforms into Venom.

"So the very nature of that story demands that you either do it [as] two [parts], if you want to spend more time with Venom, which I didn't think was fair to the audience, to the fans of Spider-Man," or that you do it all at once and introduce Venom fairly late, Raimi said in a news conference. "I thought about it, I really did. And I kept reading the fans' e-mails that [producer] Avi [Arad] would send me—'They'd better not just introduce him to tease us!' ... I felt that the fans didn't want that, from the thousands of e-mails that were sent me."

Raimi added: "Avi said, 'You're not giving me what I asked you.' ... He said, 'They want Venom. Just give them Venom already!' So I said 'OK.' But, obviously, through the very nature of it, he's only going to be in half an act or one act [at the end of the film]. I'll just make it as thorough and the best that I can [and] deliver Venom in the most complete way that I understand the fans might want him. That was my desire. I was led there." Spider-Man 3 opens May 4 in conventional theaters and in IMAX

That was such a big mistake. This is what happens when directors and writers listen to what fans want. Look what happened with the new Star Wars trilogy. All I heard when Lucas was writing the script was "what the fans wanted to see". He should have block them out and wrote a script that was his vision. Now Spiderman 3, the same thing. Too many villians, quick character development, little flow.
From the beginning, I didn't want to see Venom in this movie because Venom deserved a full time movie. Much of Venom's characteristics were missing. We never get to see how much he really hated Spiderman and the taunting/stalking.

Hmmm, I thought he looked more like the future Peter Petrelli of Heroes without the scar.

SPOILERS

I think the reason he was able to take it off the first time is that he was just taking it off for the time being, his intent wasn't to be rid of it. At the church tower however his intent was to be done with it and the symbiote wasn't having any of that and fought him.

A0028 you nailed it. The symbiote had no issues with him taking it off because it knew he'd go back to it, once he tried to discard it then it decided against it. The sound vibrations is what finally separated him from it, knowledge from the comics but unfortunately not translated on film. Also the Symbiote can mimic Spider- Powers which means it can "cloak" itself from his sense and do everything he can. The black webs are actually small pieces of the symbiote because Venom's webbing is organic, its explained in the comics that its sort of like shedding dead skin. Another key component never explained. The foundation of Venom was nicely done. The actual playing out of the Venom saga was rushed and handled poorly....again Avi's fault.

If they get everyone on board for a sequel (I don't want another one without the major cast and Raimi returning), there were certainly ways for Venom or even Carnage to make an appearance.

Highlight for spoilerage:

It was demonstrated at the outset of the film that the symbiote did not need much mass to still be able to enlarge and engulf a host. The part that stowed on Peter's scooter was tiny... and there is still the sample at Connor's lab. Assuming the symbiote segment grows as the original symbiote did, it certainly provides an avenue for more symbiotage.

Overall, I really liked the film. Excellent comic book feel, and the fight scenes were great.

Highlight for spoilerage:

I think they did a nice job bringing the Osborne plotline to a close, and I liked the little touches like the "Dock Ock Still at Large!" headline. Also, watching Peter gu nutso hipster was effective satire of the dark, cool anti-hero type that's become entrenched in our cultural mythology. No matter what kind of dark side these guys have, they still go parading around in flamboyant pajamas.

I expected it to be better than it was, but it was still pretty good-- Spider-Man 2 remains the benchmark for the trilogy. The fact that it had to cram so much into one film is both its attraction and hinderance. The villains were really, paper thin. Venom showed up to the party pretty late (and was absent during parts of the final bash?) Sandman gives his "I didn't want this" speech about 10 minutes after he goes along with Venom's (a crazy alien monster who he's not met before) dastardly plans... stuff like this made the film pretty abrupt at times.

None of this distracts from the fact that "3" highlights the 'golden age' of the hero flicks better than anything else, even though I pretty much knew what was going to be in the film, I was still amazed at what I was seeing. Spider-Man falling off a building duking it out with Venom and Sandman. Inplausible fanboy fantasy stuff come to life. I guess in 3 more years we'll be up for another, even if it's in dramatically different hands.

Other thoughts:

- I thought the effects could be better. Don't get me wrong, they aren't exactly bad. But considering this is a BIG BIG BIG BIG franchise film with 300 mil behind it, I was expecting better. To me none of it seems much improved over #2, if at all. (Spidey still looks rubbery) I would love to see someone else do the effects for once (WETA?) but I doubt it'll happen in a million years (Sony Imageworks)

- MJ isn't very likeable, and I don't think that's 100% Dunst's fault. All they ever do is argue? Why would Peter want to marry her?

- Gwen and Betty are smokin' love (but of course, neither does much)

- What I thought 'would be cool' was to have had Spidey nearly defeated at the end, with help coming from Doc Ock. Now THAT was a great 'death' scene in #2 (that was not really all that conclusive to boot). Dug the "Doc Ock still at large" headline in JJ's office.

-Raimi really wanted Venom gone, by tossing Eddie in with the explosion--- unneccessary.

- I thought the Harry arc could've/should've carried over to the fourth film (or beyond). Your best friend is dying and you're standing there having a heart to heart with Sandman plain

- It seemed a bit unlikely to me to begin with, but in light of the more critical panning this installment is likely to get- will "the team" possibly return for a fourth?

I liked it!

The part when the guy turns into Sandman was great!

Then there was some..errrr.. not so good parts of the movie, but overall i liked it!

Luaghed my ass of when Peter did the strut thingee!:rotfl Maby not suiteble for the movie but it was still funny!

Hate the silly comments they throw in to be funny, like in the final battle when Peter grabs MJ, and then Harry comes and say "I hope I'm not interrupting" in the middle of the fight, Urg. hate that!

I think that the guy who played eddie was a great choice of actor! I would've liked to see some more of venom though...

I'd give it a 8/10

An added thought: there were several things about this movie that I thought I would find really irritating that actually turned out okay.

I expected to really hate Extreme Sports Harry but I actually did not, and felt like the adaptations he made to the Goblin costume made sense with his background skill set (if you know how to snowboard, you should make a goblin glider that handles like a snowboard).

I expected to be really annoyed at Venom's short screen-time, but was left satisfied.

I also expected to dislike the changes in Eddie Brock's character but was happy with them.

Who snowboards with the board sideways? It switches to a boards sports style board for a short portion of time.

If he did that then Jar Jar would have died and the world would be a much happier place.

Anyways, just got back, I hope to see it again maybe with my Brother today.

well I'd hate to say it but I wish they left Venom out of it... infact.. The new Green Goblin stole the best villan prize!!

I hated how they did Venom.. and Sandman was too much(being able to fly where ever he wanted)

Other then that the whole struggle witht the symbiote and Harry was killer and the best part of the movie!!!

If you notice, even before the black spidey suit, peter was wearing all black.
My guess is that the symbiote was attached to his clothing before it got on the suit.

I have several major frustrations...

1) The movie was terrible...

2) The movie brought in 360 million dollars this weekend.

3) Even if I tell people NOT to see it they will still want to see it. (I would want to see it if someone told me it sucked.)

4) Columbia/Sony thinks they made a bad a$$ movie since it will be the number 1 movie of all time.

5) They will put out another CRAP movie in a couple of years.

6) Even though so many people didn't like number 3 we will all go see number 4 anyway...

If a company has 250 million dollars to make a movie... it better be the best movie EVER.... not the peice of crap that we got.

sorry, I am just really frustrated with the film and the wait and anticipation that I put into it. Very dissapointed.

I'm actually glad it's doing well, I really did enjoy it, and I really like the cool products.

I wish that they'd put out the orchestral soundtrack though instead of the stupid 'inspired by' crap.

Nope. It attached to his scooter. It was in hiding as you could see when Mary Jane was there. It comes from his shoes on the floor in that scene indicating that Symbiote attached to his shoe to get from scooter to apartment. It doesn't come into direct contract with Peter until he is sleeping and it covers the suit itself.

Just saw it:
-The pace was way off in this movie
-I actually liked the Sandman wish they would of used him more
-I'm tired of the ole Harry thing myself, wish they would of kept him out
-Venom I don't know, kind of mixed on him.
-Some of the CGI seemed last minute
-The reporter did we really need to hear what she was saying at the end?
-Did we need all the crowd shots at the end?
-I liked Eddie Brock he fit the part to me
-Gwen could of been used more

There was a lot of good parts but then there was a whole lot of stuff that should of been cut and left out of the film and placed with stuff that actually made it flow better.

It's not a perfect film that's for sure but it's better than 2 which I just never got into that much. I found 2 kind of boring honestly. It was a good movie and it's a comic book movie so I never go into these films with real high expectations honestly.

Venom's "death" sorta reminded me of Doc Oc's death, where you don't really know if they are dead for good or still alive. If that was the demise of Venom, it was lame. Then agin, the movie was a bit lame.

Lol, at the comment compairing EMo Parker to The Mask. It did have that feel to it.

Next movie, Lizard and Kraven. Which should have been this movie if you think about it.

When I was watching the movie, I overheard some kids saying the cgi looked like it was done on the PS3 (subway fight). They could have been right?

Doc Ock's death wasn't very definitive. He could easily be brought back since we never saw him "die." Sure he was underwater and not moving, but that doesn't mean he died.

Venom's was pretty decisive. I saw Brock's bones. The symbiote is still alive with Conners, but unless it can bring Brock back through bonding with his ashes, Brock is dead.

I also don't think this movie sould have been Kraven and Lizard. They had to wrap up Harry with that cliff hanger from S2. Perhaps Lizard and New Goblin/Hobgoblin would have been a good choice - very personal fights/supervillians.
