I beat the game today and what an amazing experience! Bloober did an amazing honestly. I just started my second run. It’s definitely a better remake than the latest RE ones we’ve gotten. 🤭 I did enjoy re4r but never cared for the original so never felt the connection to it and the remake was a nice filler after the boring Village release, and it’s definitely a better remake than RE2 and RE3, imo. Some will say RE2 or are better but i have my issues with 2 especially the bad campaigns and scenarios. Like, I said I never cared for 4 so can’t really say much but I enjoyed some things and changes. 3 was just straight bad … anyway, I hope they remake 1 and 3 and hopefully 4. I never got to finish the game since it was stolen.

Finally platinumed the game after unlocking all endings.

This might be my favorite remake of all time, and I usually want everything to be 1:1 but the thing is I don't view this game as a remake, I view it as a continuation, another loop of the same self induced hellish journey James has been going through since the original game, it just fits too perfectly.

The best thing for the franchise now would be for Konami to have Bloober work on a proper HD collection of the classics to make the franchise available to all the people that just played the remake. If that were to happen, I'd replay the original SH2 with the In Water ending and then the remake with the Leave ending, that would be the definitive way to experience both games for me.

Game, you made me happy.

Good luck with that.

As if Konami would ever waste resources on trying to port "outdated" games (not my words, this is what I have seen many people call the original SH games) for which they lost the source code and will definitely have to fork over some cash to avoid another "HD Collection" disaster.

But I'm always hoping they will prove me wrong.

My girlfriend got me SH2 remake for Christmas, I’ve put about 4 hours in, I’m in the “other world” apartment complex. Really great game so far. Once I finish it I plan to go back and play the first 4 games.

I wanted to play the original SH2 first, as I like to get to originals before their remake counterparts typically, but with it in-front of me, and hearing all of the good things about it, I had to jump in.

Enhanced Edition is the way to go if you wanna play the original. Emulator for 1 and 3. GoG for 4. I think playing the remake and the original are essential; they're two great, though very different experiences (imo).

My wife stayed up until 2am last night finishing the game.

I was going to sell my copy of 4 cause I played it once two decades ago and never again, when I saw the aftermarket I sold 1, 3, and 4 and walked with $600. Wild times
The aftermarket is fu**ing ridiculous nowadays. I bought the Silent Hill Sounds box a while back from a book-off store for about $200 AU. Nowadays, the eBay listings for the box all show $1,000 AU. Never gonna sell mine though.

I own all the Silent Hill games, and I'm sure I could make a pretty penny off them, but... I LIKE those games. And I like having them. I still keep my PS4 around just for P.T.
