Im really curious how they mean to exlain away that iron man can summon an army of armors in future movies.

I still think that the Heavy Lifting suit is going to be for some comic relief during the movie, sort of like the robot "Dummy" that he has in his shop. Big, dumb ox sorta character. Can't wait to see it in action.

Example...
Captain America is being beaten by his villain in times square in his movie, going to be executed... Where are all the Iron Man drones to help him? Afterall Stark can control them with his mind, why woudn't he send them to help his teammate?
The whole team is in a tough fight against a villain, why hasn't Thor called in the warriors three or Asguardian army to help them in their battle.
1) As much as you don't want to hear the comic tie-in, that's the canon for why War Machine wasn't there. In the comics, Tony asks him to come and help him in New York but he's away using the War Machine suit for the Gov and it states it would take him way too long to get there in time. As a matter of fact, the last page for the comic has him joining them when they're eating at the shawarma joint.

3) Simple. They already have a full cast for the Avengers movie.
If you want to make it more realistic, Loki states that Odin has to conjure a large amount of energy just to send Thor to earth. He wasn't able to send Thor and 3 of his buddies.

The point is that WM was missing from the movie in a time of crisis and it wasn't explained in the movie why he was too busy.
As for the other things i mentioned they were hypothetical situations for upcoming movies where things will have to be explained for their buddies not helping out in difficult battles. Thor could bring his friends or armies via the cosmic cube like at the end of TA, Stark could summon his drones to help Thor out, Banner could Hulk out and go join a fight between Cap and his villain.
