What's your recipe ebenezer? Nice job

Thanks. My photography lacks severely though.

TTM22 Slim. Rest is iminme DX with an additional clothing set. Boots are battlegeartoys Clint boots, pinched at the back, folded back onto themselves and taped around. This allows the jeans to both slide down easy and also go all the way to the bottom of the boot. Boots look more or less the correct size when you can get the jeans to the bottom.

UN****INGREAL. So lame.
NOTE TO BUYERS if it doesnt come with an Iminime certificate its NOT REAL

If you follow Iminime or this board of course you know that

That sucks, but inevitable I guess.

I'm surprised it took this long.

You see how these things (full sets) are bought and sold and flipped for exorbitant amounts of money. Why would'nt you expect someone among 36 to cash in ?

What sucks about it is that WE KNOW ONE OF THE 36 DX BUYERS GAVE IT TO Q. Now to find out which one. Its really dumb on the part of that DX buyer... all they are doing is diminishing the value of their own collectible. I hope Q paid 3k for right to cast that head.

I don't know that it will affect value much honestly. Serious collectors aren't going to be satisfied with Q's cheap counterfeit junk. ...

Agreed, there is an obvious difference between owning the real thing and knock-off. You can not compare a 1964 GI Joe with a Cotswold or a Timeless collection repro in value

Disgusting. How the **** does that guy get his grubby mits on everything?

When there is money to be made theres a way

...
He must be paying people a fortune to make it worth their while.

Sadly it's unlikely we'll ever know. The sheer volume of sculpts he seems to sell would appear to make it worth his while even if he is paying large amounts to secure the sculpts.
It's really really sad and more than a little concerning that sculpts this limited are falling into his hands.

Not 100% sure how casting works, but this means the original DX sculpt that was used for casting is ruined right? What a waste :slap
Denny said it was cut to make the hatted version. But there are those 3 unpainted that Trevor gifted

Yes, but like Bullet says they apparently know the culprit there. The DX Cowboy is even trickier, because at least a couple have already sold their DX's (apart from Wake and Shortround). Considering the timing, my guess is that this recast is actually from a figure that was purchased second hand.

Good point

The cast quality looks terrible.
Look good to me from pic and lets face it, if they are the only way to get it, there will be folks who will buy it

btw how has that authorized Studio Proteus project worked out as far as quality recasts ?

And the fact that only three unpainted casts exist (and we know where they went) should mean anyone who buys an unpainted cast should know they are buying a fake.

btw--- Again my personal opinion. These were very personal and special gifts from Trev, I believe with his sig on the bottom. PROTOTYPES if you will. I believe from both a sentimental and $ value point of view I think they are worth much more as unpainted undisturbed keepsakes

btw when asked for more hatless Clints in future releases , Denny has said the original was destroyed when Trev cut the forehead for the hatted version. Could'nt one of these be used for future casts ?

If I understand the process correctly you can recast a painted head with out damage

Finally I'm goin to personally contact all of the painters I know and ask them if they will consider refusing to paint the sculpt.

I personally paint most of the sculpts I purchase myself, albeit not as well as some of the guys who offer services. I'm also sure there are plenty of starving artists, art students and model enthusiasts outside the hobby in every community happy to pick up a few bucks

You do realize that at this point, Q is just recasting whatever he can get his hands on just because everyone here gets so pissed off that he does it.

I honestly believe the best thing WE can do, is just stop talking about it.

I don't think he gives a **** about anyone here one way or the other to be honest, and only stays connected to figure out the next thing he can counterfeit and make a buck off of. But yeah, it's just increased publicity for him at this point, because there are very very few ways this kind of thing could be totally stymied. I think the most realistic, potentially effective method are folks like Denny and Trevor making sculpts available from legit sources at competitive prices. Still wouldn't be 100% effective, but would at least hurt Q and provide a payday for the artists.

Even if you only sold sculpts to the most trustworthy of the trustworthy collectors, everyone sells/flips at some point. Then where does it go? Who knows?

If I saw q I'd punch him in the face. I swear I would.

That being said... Look, I'm sorry, I love Trevor, I love Iminime. I hate q but... But... The whole DX situation didn't work out so well, it was actually a disaster. A lot of hardcore iminime supporters actually felt like they got screwed in the situation what with the checkout problems etc.

This might be the only way to get the head, the set is selling over 2k...

I have a DX set so I'm speaking purely as a devils advocate here but if I didn't I can honestly see why some people would take that last resort, as horrible a situation as it is.

It's really poor Trevor more than anyone else who's getting screwed here. I wish it was the good old dys when he was around here posting his work and selling it directly himself, no proteus (iminime does not count their collaborations kick *** and I'm pumped its happening) no recasts, no limits, no drama.

Poor Trev, but it does not look like no matter what he does anything can stop Q from recasting, he might as well just come back if we could get his heads the community wouldn't even need to think about q and his recasts.

On future projects Denny has already stated that the limitations on Dx will be dictated more by demand than by edition size. I think you will see less collectors left out in the cold and therefore less likelihood of recasts being an issue.

Good news indeed! Last thing we want is the scum to be the one who benefits!:clap

Honestly, I do wish everyone who wanted one could've got their hands on a DX. It still sucks that Q is making a buck off of others' hardwork, though; legitimate or not. What's the point in it? Why must he do these things when people hate him for it? It seems like he just enjoys being a *********.

I really do think that's part of it! He does it just to spite Trevor, what he did to him was downright evil.

He legitimately bullied him, telling him that he was a cop and would out him to the authorities for selling unauthorized merchandise unless Trevor he let him recast and rip him off. It was blackmail. This after numerous times if lying to him telling him that the recasts were a mistake and he was not aware and would stop selling them. Trevor is the nicest most humble guy you could interact with too, still disgusts me.

Thats why I feel a DX item should not be a second HS.

I've said it before.

Stick to one HS and make the DX something else. (A second clothing set? An accessory?)

If you make a second HS just make it available to the collector that wants to choose one or the other or both.

Keep the HS available for sale like Rainman does, stick an unnumbered COA with some serial number or something to track authenticity and BAM! problem solved! No more Q.

You make a HS exclusive you create a supply and demand in the black market.

I haven't seen any of Kato's stuff replicated. lol

Oompa is a great example of what a DX should be.

I meant, if Q purchased an authentic painted DX sculpt, & stripped off the paint to cast it, that means there's one less with the iMiniMe paint job. Waste.

They don't have to strip the paint to recast them. The odds are the original sculpt is just fine, still sad that whoever owned it felt it necessary to do this ****.

Classy move very welcome news :)
