serang is an awesome artist as well, but he has a certain style to all his sculpts that appear less realistic and more stylistic....which works for some of his customs but not all....I love his Hendrix because Serang's style definitely fits it...not soo much for beethoven...

Iminime's artist concentrate on the realistic features that get a collectors attention like myslef...and with trevor on board for some other projects....i can't really see anyone beating this duo...

prince might be another one that may fit sernag's style but if he messes up the eyes...it will throw the entire figure off....just an FYI...

Agreed on some of Serangs sculpts but the rest of his figures are untouchable by any other artist here on the board. The only one who comes close is Rainman with his accessories.

Weeeelllllll yeah his style is a little different and you can tell in the sculpts. When i was at the convention they had in Seoul...it was difficult walking back and forth from his table to Rainman's table. That's just how things are...everyone has a different taste....style.....i almost grabbed The Dude and ran off with it....lol. I will though.....one day own that figure....some way some how it will happen.

the lips on CTN miller look off...while its still a nicely done figure...he can't stand against some of the other custom figures done by other artists in this 1/6 field...few just to be exact because he is still a top calibre type of artist....

Your nit-picking.

This figure out the box is weathered and looks amazing and I'll put it up against any figure out there not done by Serang.

Serang is a top-notch artist, but I agree that his likenesses aren't always a reflection of "gritty reality." Nor are Rainman's. Nothing wrong with an artist adding some artistic license to a sculpt though IMO (I know some here disagree with that).

lol..not nit picking...but if you look at the doctor staff he did earlier in the year...all look off...and stylaized...and yet they were made with incrediblt detail...not takinng anything away from him skills but on the realistic facial expressions....there are other artists that are better....Iminime's artists.....Trevor, adam, and even RM!!!....just saying...

i have yet to land my first serang custom figure but that will shortly change....hendrix is on its way to me...luckily i'm not into military figures so i don't collect many of Serang's other figures...i try to stay with Pop Culture characters...

Edit: Serang has said he is through doing military figures. Too much work weathering all the equipment.

Adam and Trevor have to be two of the most source-accurate sculptors Ive come across. Most of Serang's sculpts have his signature styles and some characters actually fit that style very well just like Hendrix did. His recent van Gough and Beethoven are very good examples of his stylistic touches... RM too has his stylistic touches although some sculpts have less of them like The Butcher while some like Stansfield and Dexter show more of his own style...
