Hmmm, I guess to me that seems a bit silly (not you or your argument, but the rationale, if this is how they view things). Even their DX run is quite large (in number; not in relation to demand) in comparison to some of the one-man talent on the boards where a run might be closed after 10 or 15 figures and in which it actually makes sense to have a very limited run since there's no-one else to delegate work to.
I guess the issue I have is this is not a medium like automobiles where no-one else can replicate Rolls' work. One of the 35 people that gets the DX can easily scan it and print it and sell it themselves to anyone unscrupulous enough to buy it, so the exclusivity seems to me counter-productive (even if everyone that can afford one buys one, it will still be a small run).
As I've said in a previous post, even though the DX run makes no sense to me, I'll still try for a spot and won't be annoyed if I don't make the list. Just seems odd to me that they have the ability to produce more for people who are basically giving them a blank cheque to do so but in a sense refusing the business. Also, I think the Rolls comparison falls apart a little when it comes to pricing. The DX is by custom standards pretty affordable, so if they wanted to have a super limited run for the sake of exclusivity, they should be charging $1500.00 or something outrageous for it which will automatically thin the herd. They've made it affordable but at the same time super limited, so the maximum number of people won't get a spot. *shrugs*

I agree with you. In this scenario, the exclusiveness of the DX version lies not solely in pricing, but timing. However, VIP/exclusive members get first access and I believe such business decision revolves around promoting incentives in becoming a VIP/exclusive member. Otherwise, there would be much less incentive in becoming a VIP member if the production size of said version is large enough to suffice the entire general public. In essence, part of this exclusivity is catered to those who have invested in iminime's VIP membership. Another part is to timing within the VIP circle should DX Cowboy gets sold out before it reaches non-VIP members.
Yes, very bad. It is even worse if you choose not to watch them ASAP haha.
Please consider unpainted casts, I was planning to buy the full figure , but I have since lost my job, and i'm skint! I can only afford unpainted casts! Please consider Denny.
Thanks dude
Ah, OK, thanks for clarifying that. Figured the DX had to make it past the VIP gauntlet before seeing if any were left for general release. Still, will be a hard figure to acquire.Denny said some DX will be available to VIPs and some will be held for the general sale for non-VIPs.
Yep, standard's sweet, too, and I'll be happy to pick one up if I'm able. Just love that un-hatted sculpt.?..Oh well....I'll be more than happy with the 'standard' version
The VIP can be bought for a fee and incentives are part of that, so that's fair enough. But for releases as special as this maybe a 1 per person rule is inorder. We can assume that with the early order advantages and no cap on how many DX's they can
order, regular customers, who Denny is going to need to grow his business, will be shut out. Not good business.
The reason why there should be a 1 per person order rule is because Iminime operates more like a small toy company than a customizer and this release is competitively priced.
Denny said some DX will be available to VIPs and some will be held for the general sale for non-VIPs.
Let's see the paint!
Did he? I hope so.
