After looking at the Yan pics, the final rooted hair is a bit off imo.

It’s like his hair isn’t styled, the waves aren’t as tight and flaring out too much, and doesn’t frame his face. Bit long too. Curly/wavy hair has a mind of it’s own and can look different each day (I’ve got long thick hair similar to Paul, bit curlier though, closer to Jon Snow lol) and just like Chalamet’s hair in the film, on some shooting days it was less curlier/kinkier than other days. So I guess it really will come down to expert 1/6 stylists lol.

There was a lot of variance with Aragorn; I just hope they maintain some level of consistency.

Looks perfectly fine to me, and for all we know he restyled it himself.

His hair also varies so much throughout the movie too.

No matter what, I don't see this as the figure to fix InArt's styling inconsistencies. There's just too much hair and too unique a style. Variability is inevitable -- though, yes, not necessarily inaccurate given how much the hair changes scene to scene.

The figure’s hair is a bit flare out and isn’t styled as much as it could be, is all I’m saying.

Yeah, I said that^

It’s funny how I can’t even criticize INART. Looks like I’ll just make pro-INART comments.

No one said you can't criticise? You're posting on a forum so people are gonna respond, nothing wrong with a friendly debate :lol.

Yeah we need to accept there's gonna be variance with things like this that are done by hand - especially by different artists. But hell, I struggle to even make my own hair look the same every day :lol. I think anyone with longer hair can relate.

If mine arrives looking anything like those photos I'll be over the moon.

I think it looks awesome lol, but too much hair, imo. The thing with curls is that the longer the strand is, the more weighed down it is and there’s less bounce. That’s how the INART hair looks like to me. Obviously, this is fake hair so it won’t behave like real hair, so you’d need to cut it some to make it seem more accurate to his unique hair style.

but idk just my opinion. Especially as someone who has similar hair lol

You’re known to shoot others down lol, I mean I’ve seen you do it a ton on FB (I think it’s funny personally).

I guess I’m going against the grain here, but even when I criticize INART, people usually give me pushback. In this case, most of y’all do think the hair is perfect, but I personally don’t think so and based off images, it’s clear there’s too much hair. I also had mentioned he had tons of variance when shooting only for you to make it seem like I wasn’t aware of that.

Plenty of idiots on Facebook, can't blame me there :lol.

But I'm not trying to beef with you trust me, you'd know if I was :lol

Can always take it with you to your barber next time you need a trim since you have similar hair :lol.

Oh, I don’t disagree there :rotfl

All good man. I’ll admit I was a little on edge there.

Lmao maybe I can have my hair stylist give my Paul figure a trim.

I’m excited for this figure just like everyone else here!

I do agree it's maybe a tad heavy but I'd rather have too much than too little. I gave my Aragorn a minor trim.

While the critics are perhaps correct - I think people need to keep in mind that this is a 1/6th scale figure and not a clone of the actor. If a company can get this close (a clear high 90% accurate) then I think you need to count your blessings. If the perfectionist in you can't allow anything less then 100% - then this isn't the hobby for you.

To head off any complaints - my statement isn't about shutting people down, or "white knighting" for InArt - it just get tedious when people go out of their way to highlight that, inevitable, 0.0001% compromise the producer had to make to get us a 1/6 scale figure of the character. Are we going to start counting the pores in the skin? Maybe we're going to count hairs up his nose? At some point we need to step back and accept - it's a plastic figure, and some poor schmuck had to spend time gluing / punching tiny hairs into a plastic headsculpt - is it going to replicate the actors head 100%? seriously - you work it out! I think, for most, the answer should be obvious.

Like it’s been stated, his hair varied between either promo material, movie stills, etc.

I prefer when it’s more disheveled with hair framing his face. But I do think they went a bit overboard with the length and volume, a tad too dark in color too. But then again, might just be lighting.

Great thing about rooted figs is that you can manipulate them and add a touch of personal flair to your own copy. I love that. I’m just not talented as others here when modding hair.

I think for some of us, we enjoy discussion, including talking about these perceived shortcomings.

I’m pretty vocal about understanding these things are mass produced at the end of the day, so I’m really not trying to take away from this figure at all. I love what I’m seeing, it’s my most anticipated figure to get in hand at this time.

Not sure why you’re taking it like this. @Lokki

I wonder if this will look better if the product is removed and it's somewhat dry and it will puff out more. Though it's fine as is rn

But who is percieving the short comings? I mean, seriously, look at the photos you just posted - is anyone seriously expecting the hair on a 1/6 figure to be any better than it is? Maybe I'm the crazy one.

From what I can see, and I really don't want to come across as a dick - but it just seems like you're the only one "enjoying the discussion about these percieved shortcomings" - maybe I'm blind - but I'm not seeing them.

I'm gonna walk away, you do you dude. If this is how you enjoy the hobby - then more power to you. I really don't understand why you would buy or be excited about a figure you clearly see faults in - but that's your thing I guess.

Yeah, I’ll do me. Thanks. All I said is that the hair can do with a trim and some modding lol. Why are you gatekeeping how I enjoy the hobby or making it seem like I’m saying this entire thing is rubbish….? Couldn't be more wrong…

This hobby isn’t black and white to me. There’s definitely some nuance to it, imo.

For the record, I also agree with folks in here who’ve said this just might be INART’s best figure so far. I can’t wait!

Man, nothing can be expressed if it goes against the grain, can’t it? 😅
