I really think you're blowing it out of proportion, tbh. Again, I have to emphasize: it's literally the same story. This is not comparable to mix-and-matching BVS and JL or Fellowship or Two Towers or anything. It's more like having figures from Deathly Hallows Pt. I and Pt. II on the same shelf.

Also, we’re not discussing the books here, we’re discussing the films. And the licenses tied to the films. Them calling it Dune Part 1 and 2 is just nomenclature for the films.

And yeah, I usually have minority opinions, but that doesn’t mean I’m the one who’s in the wrong here.

I think it’s very clear that they’re different movie licenses and different prop costumes for each film. Just cause you’re arguing for the narrative reason where there two halves of the same book, in other words, where Part 2 picks up right after Part 1 doesn’t mean squat. Just cause Paul and Chani are still wearing still suits doesn’t mean anything. They’re still different prop suits and accessorized differently for each respective film.

Narrative-wise, Paul was out in the desert so he became more weathered and it’s not the same lightly weathered still suit at the end of part 1. Also his shawl literally changed prop where he has a beige colored one in part 2 vs black in part 1. The actors themselves aged up too between shooting. Chalamet also got bigger for Part 2 shooting even if in the story it takes place shortly after Part 1 where they’re on their way to Sietch Tabr, carrying Jamis’ body.

These are things that may not matter to y’all, but studios and INART do take this into account.

Man, I don’t even think I’m being a stickler, but that just doesn’t make sense to me. I guess we’ll see what ends up happening, but imo, they ought to make P1 Chani.

Unfortunately it was poor timing cause they should’ve done P2 Paul instead. It would’ve avoided these mismatching requests for Feyd or Reverend Mother Jessica.

And I never said Fremen battle armor. I want Stillsuit Chani with the blue scarf. Part 1 Chani would be pointless in my eyes.

Yeah that’s what YOU want, but companies don’t necessarily operate that way. Dune Part 1 and Part 2 are separate licenses. We’ll see what happens. Idk why even bring up the Hot Toys Avengers/MCU figures. Obviously, after all these lines, collectors will just get whatever they want and pick and choose to curate their own collection. With #2 figure in their own line, I’ll be hard pressed to think they’ll intentionally do Part 2 version of her when their Paul is Part 1. If they make Part 1 version and you really need to have her with the blue scarf, you can always make it yourself. I mean you don’t even care much for accuracy anyway so why does it matter.

I knew this would happen lol. They should’ve just scrapped Part 1 Paul in favor of a Part 2 Paul. Would’ve avoided this. But of course, licensing plays a role here so they opted to go with Part 1 and it took forever for them to get approvals.

Then we’ll need a Part 2 Paul as well cause Part 2 Chani just doesn’t go with Part 1 Paul. I know this is what people prefer but then they really should make it clear they’re going to make a Part 2 Paul then.

Not really no. cause the prop costumes have changed. The shawl and stillsuit have been weathered and isn’t no where near as clean as it was in Part 1. Not to mention, it’s an older by 2-3 years Chalamet. Not sure why you’re bringing this up though, cause Chani is also Part 1 based but weathered and isn’t wearing the blue scarf….

The juxtaposition with having P1 Paul and P2 Chani wouldn’t make a lick of sense. I’ll stand by that. INART would be dumb as hell to do that.

I think the issue is exacerbated since we now have part 1 Paul and have to work around that as the centrepiece.
Part 2 Paul is clearly more popular and, other than his hair changing a bit and the actor aging, you only require a couple extra accessories and some weathering to turn the first figure into the Lisan Al Gaib. InArt should have saved all meech for the second movie.

So, let’s say Chani is the next figure to be produced; if InArt have plans to make a part 2 Paul, they might struggle to sell a part 2 Chani as well if they’ve already released part 1 Chani.

My preference for a part 2 Chani is informed by my willingness to mod my figures so I just want to have all the relevant accessories included for both movies and I can achieve the desired degree of weathering or hairstyle myself depending on what look I’m going for.

I wish companies would produce ‘definitive’ figures that give us as many options as possible.
Aragorn for instance only needs a red shirt, chainmail shirt, and Anduril on top of what InArt gave us to cover the entire trilogy in his Ranger clothing.

I just keep it simple. If they made Part 1 Paul, I want a Part 1 Chani. They go together perfectly. Chani is also a presence the entire film, not just when he sees her at the end.

I agree with @HyperDrive, it would make more sense if they did a Part 1 Chani to go along with Part 1 Paul. Those are perfect to represent the first movie. Make those and then move on to characters/looks from the second film.

A Chani figure would be boring imo, they should do a Feyd to go along with Paul.

I'm gonna wear myself out saying it about these InArt releases, but you really can't go wrong either way. The sculpted looks very good; it just looks... stylized, is the word I keep coming back to. My eyes refuse to read it as natural or photorealistic, which is why I gravitate towards the rooted.
