maybe im the only one noticing huge flaws with this entire set, dont think its as great as many make it out to be. the subway and carnival look? sure, I can give those two slack since they're the better-looking ones out of the 4.

even under joker make up it's hard for me to see phoenix, same goes for the arthur sculpt. i can vaguely see him but you lose it around the forehead and up. or maybe I'm just blind, I stare at different stills of him, renders and sculptures previously done

the chair is worthless to me, will need to source hot toys when it's out or buy the entire set and cull it for the chair and sell the rest. assuming its oversized for an oversized figure with how hts loves to make them big.
why resin to begin with? I'm unsure, I dont particularly mind the chair being resin but it being undersized bugs the **** out of me ever since the proto

Careful, the hive mind will come after you.
let them lol im bashing my own figure and the flaws, they cant stop me. not like I'm bashing their figures

I'm sick of hearing praise after praise when issues are being pushed under the rug like it doesn't exist, but like many have said my standards are just different and I notice things more I guess

And then there’s me who’s willing to be more objective and understanding. Cause,
@xXJ0kerXx1 I agree with you that the likenesses (including the carnival one) aren’t bang on perfect and I also don’t see the likeness through and through.

It doesn’t really change how I feel about the overall set though. I think they’re still amazing. Maybe I just appreciate how INART designs figures and I’ve been let down too many times before by Hot Toys that I’ll take anything that’s clearly on another level than them imo.

We all tolerate things differently I guess..

i tend to be objective in viewing things, just I tend to notice issues more than positives. my friends always say I rate figures harshly but I think it is a fair rating with the issues that exist. in my eyes there is no perfect figure, there is no such thing when improvements can always be made

inart has its ups and downs. like you I've been let down by hot toys, but I am starting to feel the same with inart now (but they are better and they will continue to be better if they actually listen to us). they did for only certain parts but this figure clearly needs more time to bake in the oven for me. maybe another 6 months or something, but maybe they are not capable to do that because of financial struggles if it is true. really, what type of crazy **** would spend 2k for these 4? most casual collectors are penny pinchers, I don't blame. especially old collectors who've been in the age when a figure didn't go anywhere above 200. only die hards are willing to spend this much while others admire from afar.

it seems their quality control and how they package the sculpts have improved. I've yet to see anyone talk about their heads falling out of the capsules like with ledger and gandalf. they switched the twist mechanism in favor of the magnet connection to keep the head secure... not quite a fan of that but my heads arrived good, so I cant really see how reliable it is till someone has an issue.

I like the character, love the movie even. it struck something inside me and I've only been more persistent than ever. i owned 3 statues from this movie (sold), customs, and now this. I'm 50/50 on this set, I like carnival and subway but that's really about it. not many put their figures under a microscope but I watched and did research about the movie far too many times to let things slide because I have a leg in the race.

it only seems the trajectory for my collecting journey in 1/6 is self-produced projects for characters that matter to me even if it will cost me a leg each time, I know what I will be getting myself into. the ins and outs so I'm certain I won't be disappointed if I hire artists to materialize my vision. I'm always left wanting more and disappointed, whether its hot toys, inart, and customs

everything can be improved. i ordered iris set for red suit and it is best in the market but can be a lot better in certain categories

I think its much more challenging getting the likeness when there's face paint. I somewhat agree about the Red Suit but the likeness is at least 90% in my opinion and it's better than Hot Toys by a big margin. You have to be joking about vaguely seeing the Arthur sculpt though? I think it's phenomenal. The only thing I'd give to HT is the bigger chair, which having just watching the scene again should be bigger, but that's let down by the smaller carpet area and reused/repurposed base.

Is there anything else you didn't mention that are huge flaws?

same goes for ledger but ledger didnt really look like himself when the prosthetics and make up was on him. the main issue stems from the big forehead and hairline being pulled further up but not many people took a picture of the sculpt from the side profile, the face protrudes out so much. this is friend's friend picture comparing to mille 1.0

make up is easy to cover up likeness, it is true but i can assume the joker and arthur head are similar enough. the head shape is too narrow to me. phoenix has a pretty round feature

surprising for me I think lu1's sculpt is better in capturing the likeness but most pictures of the hot toys and promo pictures poorly capture the likeness. this one picture sealed it but the hair is garbage. it might even be the best likeness to be produced to date. i have dai_qz's work but didnt order mille yan because the head shape looked too boxy to me to be phoenix. i do not have fate in hot toys production but it looks to be a decently good head to rehaul, minus the downside that itll likely be an oversized head because hot toys

pattern work for articles of clothing. arthur pants, shirt. joker shirt. inaccurate buttons. and bare in mind these are issues brought up months in advance when the proto v1 released. even @HyperDrive chimed in and gave inart an earful. the vest hasn't even been changed, its still poorly undersized and the red suit clothing is too wrinkly, feels anything but premium

this should be the accurate color for pants. jnd even has the same issue with their printing for the 1/3 statue
the pattern for arthur's should be more subtle and joker's shirt should be punchier and more present. its very dull, the printing isn't good but the shirt material is more tailored towards being durable and accuracy.

the journal prop (that phoenix gave to leigh gill). i wouldn't be mad about this if they included a normal book without the signature and the journal gift as an extra but it is not displayable to me.

the stair diorama with the tacky title on the steps. ruins a perfect dio (but the ankle grabber is very poorly implemented and does little but limit the figure)

cant forget the cheap ass cigarettes, in the picture I sent earlier I'm using por toy's

my issue stems mainly from how the accuracy of the figure and likeness. they got some balls if their two main looks are underwhelming compared to carnival and bathroom (but that's just me). i can mostly look past accessories because many of them are good, especially the hands. very expressive and detailed

I change all my ties to dino, no matter the figure so I never really rope it into a category. capes and ties will always be garbage from mass produced companies, it never changes. it just hasn't been ordered yet, I only have 1 while another is saved for yunsil

I wont comment on everything because i'll take your word for some of it. But a few things:
  1. He does a have a large forehead so I don't know why that's a complaint on the figure.
  2. The Arhur vest i can see being a tad undersized but it's not as drastic as you say
  3. The Arthur pants now going through the movie I think should be a subtle shade of green? Hard to really make out the correct colour and patten in the movie in any scene.
  4. The wrinkly suit you mentioned, it's not that wrinkly besides anywhere he's got limbs bent. i think the material feels nice and premium, i'm not sure maybe you have much higher standards, but we disagree there. If you want something that doesn't wrinkle at all, then I don't what to say, that probably is impossible for 1/6 scale clothes.

he does have a big forehead, sorry need to clarify but the hairline being pulled further back to where it looks bulging from the sides just makes it distracting to me. if they kept it normal/moved it forward then it would've been better

friend's work, we've been meticulously optimizing it

the purple pants he wears is only present in 1 scene, its when he gets fired but they deleted the scene of the argument between randall and him. but that scene was mostly medium shots, you rarely saw his pants in that scene. you kind of are left to leaked pictures

its hard to describe the material, but some suited custom clothing feels very silky and soft. it may not be poser friendly because its very delicate fabrics. many people who own those type of suits rarely pose their figure so they dont damage the clothing. inart chose fabrics meant for posing and wear/tear, its very coarse. its not about wrinkling per say but the presentation of the fabric but maybe I'm too critical to expect inart or even jnd to do that. the average consumer wants to play with their toy. I'm equally interested to play as well, but material just feels different.

i only have ropa's set for joker but the material shapes itself wherever you touch very easily. its not really good, lots of inaccuracies for that set too but the button on the vest was good because its meant to be transparent, but already ordered iris set so it should be coming in soon to see how it presents itself. material should be good, I told that tailor up to high regard from what many friends spoke about her.

I am quite happy with my Arthur and i think the likeness is pretty strong. Need to do a proper photoshoot but the lighting today was terrible.

very clean base. the one time i was ready to opt out of not using inart bases like their previous sets, it surprised me how strong the magnets were on the feet

Lastly on the pants material, if it's more to your expectations but I couldn't do the cross legged pose, then that'd be a massive dealbreaker for me. I need posability, durability and high enough accuracy. Fine to compromise a bit of either if they don't stray too far (poseable but less accurate and vice versa). I'm not as knowledgeable as you with the proper details even though i've watched the movie enough times, but the inaccuracies weren't glaring to me and don't even bother me now. The only complaint I could have like I said is the undersized chair. Without scrutinising like you guys did, most of us wouldn't be aware of these issues.

Yes nothing is perfect, but definitely these are standout in my collection.

it seemed possible to do with how they did the spring mechanism for the body. the only issue I had doing the cross pose was how the crotch of the pants would sink and bunch nastily but that's more of the scale than anything. i haven't properly futzed the figure ever since I received it so there's no telling how it'll properly look but I need to look at pictures again to see how wonderfest looked to try and replicate. hopefully hot toys chair wont be hard to find, that's my saving grace because I intended the red suit from inart to be the sitting/talk show look primarily

I quite like the spring mechanism for the body, it seemed strange at first but I grew to like it more as I played with it. i thought they carved out his crotch piece to have his legs cross over each other but the mechanism works decently enough. their phoenix may have the best body I've felt and handled from them. batman is close too but the handle feel is very good on the 4 figures

knowledge is just a curse. the more you look at something the more you pick it apart instead of enjoying. sometimes ignorance is bliss. i dont hold inart superman to the weight I do for this figure (referring to the armpit pattern on the suit being inaccurate) but its because I care about this movie more than everything in my collection

I finally got my order from Giantoy. Blown away by this set. I do t see much point setting up my DSLR and taking photos its been done and so many video reviews no point. But the box for this thing is a work of art in its own.
