I saw it 3 times and more or less I still feel the same about it. The thing I likee the first time I still like and the things I didn't like I still don't like. For me the movie is the worst live action Batman film probably. But thats really because of the script. I love everything else about it.
Uhhh....try to rewatch Batman Begins and get back to me on that one 😂

Glad I'm not the only one that feels the same.

When I first watched it I was struggling to stay awake because I was so tired so I thought that affected my enjoyment of it, but actually the second time watching it at the cinema then with my girlfriend I realised the first feelings I had were right. I really wanted to absolutely love it, but it was just good.

Nothing wrong with that, I thought the tone and setting and Pattinson as Batman were great. It was just too long and meandering - I love meandering and don't mind long, but it just felt like it was grinding on just to be that long. I think Reeves built into his own plot too much, there was no reason for it to be so long.

It also didn't really have any contrast, it was pretty much the same level throughout. Even the car chase scene when it picks up was janky. He revs the engine then waits until Penguin can get in the car to have a chase, like he wants to have a chase. And maybe I thought I understood that scene wrong, but every time watching it it's clunky and feels strange and ruins what should be a break from the monotone.

But it's in a very good place for the second to be phenomenal.

It almost feels like Batman Begins in a weird way.

I feel like a great second one can really help enhance this first one. Build on that development of the character of Bruce Wayne. The detective aspect helps set it apart from the other Batman we have seen on screen. I place it around 5th on my list of stand alone Batman movies so far.

Make the list... make the list....

The Batmobile stalled due to the constant revving, that's why Penguin gets the chance to escape.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, everyone.

At times it really felt like the movie “Seven” with Batman. And I loved that approach. Some of the best Batman stories were pretty gruesome and dark.

But at times the script kinda got in the way…and there were too many moments (for my liking) where if someone didn’t give a ‘clue’ to something, I don’t think Batman would’ve solved it or figured it out.

Anyway, don’t wanna derail this any further. It was a solid movie that had a few head scratching decisions.

squirrel suit. 😂

Here is mine

Batman v superman
Batman begins
The dark knight
Batman returns
Batman 89
The dark knight rises
The batman

I forgot batman forever and batman and robin exist and I would not count these anyway

Batman vs Superman is not a Batman standalone film, so I scratched it.

So your all-time favorite Batman movie is... Batman Begins.

And your least favorite is The Batman.

Both are very slow and sometimes plodding. The dialogue is better in BB but the atmosphere is certainly not. They seem very similar to me, in strengths and weaknesses.

I think the villains are better in The Batman.

Its a shame batfleck never got his standalone

Did you PO this Batman figure?
I really love pattinson in the role. The suit. The world. The style. The tone. But I can't wrap my head around the weak script
I will say with my mixed feelings about the movie that if Inart never came into the scene and the only option was the hot toys figure then I would have skipped
