Really accurate Jack Sparrow, Superman (SR Routh, Cavill and Reeve) and T2 T800 are ones I would struggle to say no to and probably give into the hefty asking price.

I would too. I'm hoping SooSoo makes one eventually to at least have an update from the original HT. Their Arrowverse Kingdom Come one is ok, but I think they can do better. But I have always wanted a really, really nice Routh Superman. I edited my post b/c for some reason I left that out. So far, no custom artist has been able to reproduce the patterned suit and I've tried asking around a couple years ago to get something off the ground to no avail.
At the time it did, especially compared to the DC Direct figure and the Medicom which is all we had at the time. I remember some ppl choosing the Medicom simply b/c the boots allowed the feet to point down for flying poses. Then we got the 2-in-1 set which was actually pretty nice but the headsculpts were a step back compared to the V1 individual Superman and Clark Kent figures.

I keep seeing the “overpriced” argument as though these things aren’t intrinsically over-indulgent luxury items. Paying $1,000 for two dolls with rooted hair is ******* crazy in this economy, but so’s paying $400 for an Iron Man figure or $300 for a Batman figure from Hot Toys or, hell, $90 for a 6 inch figure from Mezco or MAFEX. Don’t have money? It’s cool. Nobody does. Buy a nice action figure to keep you company while the world catches fire. That’s been my motto for a long time and it’s probably going to be until I die.
My girls likes to laugh and make fun of what she calls "my dolls". I get the last laugh whenever I tell her how much I've sold something for on eBay versus the piddly items she has sold. Yeah, that Star Wars LEGO set I bought on sale back in 2012? Just sold it for 4-5 times the price...

Right now, it is a bad timing to start selling cause of the economy, but I'm glad I was able to unload the 1/6 I didnt need anymore to fund the statues I bought recently before it got really bad.
My wife is ok with it cause every week, she was happy to hear how much I sold the figures. Heck, on just my two Hot Toys Harley alone, I got almost a grand for just dancer girl and SS1 original outfit. So very week, I'm like, Sold another one for $300...and another for $350, etc.
Right now though, its pretty bad. You're gonna take a big hit. Fortunately, aside from Queens 1/4 Joker, I think the rest of my POs will probably be next year. So I have more time to sell to fund them.

The majority of accessories from any figure went straight to my parts tubs.
Seeing a lot of accessories in the box make people feel like there's alot of value, but I could do without most of them.

After watching the video I might preorder the standard Batman. I would only display him with his mask on so getting the rooted hair makes no sense since it will probably stay in the box. Does anyone besides 1/6th or Toyswonderland have it up for preorder yet?

I'd say the value of a figure, or anything really, is in the quality of the product as well as the quantity of stuff as well as the beholder's appreciation for the subject and execution. But in the case of InArt vs Hot Toys, both are high quality, both have a good quantity of stuff. Most of us are here because we love the subject (The Batman, comics, movies, etc) and we love to see these well executed- costumes and figures that move and provide more than just a statue display. You really CAN'T go wrong with either option. A lot of people in thread are acting like HT is some bottom-of-the-dumpster company that consistently puts out crap. This is not true. Until InArt came along, and IMO until they actually have figures on the market, HT is the industry standard. If you think InArt looks better and is the better value, get InArt. If you think that HT comes with more stuff and is the better value, get HT.

Yeah people seem to have some false sense of worth when a figure has more accessories when in reality 99% of collectors just has their figures standing in a museum pose with one or two accessories at max with the figure. I've been fine with Inarts approach in including only the essentials.
I don't need a Batman figure in a body bag wingsuit that I'm never gonna display him in.
Idk, I've always liked having extra parts to mess around with as a kid. Love switch out stuff and tend to eventually use just about everything the figure comes with if I have the space for it. Like I wouldn't currently be able to display the figure with the extended hooks from the grapple gun, but otherwise, I like to cycle my poses. I don't leave them in dynamic poses for long as I don't want to over stretch the fabric (especially if it's not the type to bounce back) but I still will for a time being in order to display certain items the way they should/could be. So when there are two similar products but one of them comes with more for about the same price, it's really tough as I want those extra bits. But as I said earlier, it will more than likely be easier to get the HT pieces parted out later than it would the InArt pieces.

I am not sure I agree with this, and it is impossible to prove. I think many collectors, like me, regularly play with and re-pose figures, but maybe that is just because I do it. Ironically, I was considering posing this set with Bruce behind batman and both surrounded by a rich industrial decay. Eventually the display will devolve into accommodating other figures, but probably more dystopian characters like Fury Road
